Coburg vs Springvale
« on: March 04, 2005, 09:22:18 PM »
Popped down to Moorabbin Oval on my way home tonight to see Coburg go around for about an hour. Seemed both reserves and seniors got a half each as at "half-time" two new sides came out. "First" game score for the half was Springvale 68 - Coburg 19.

I only saw the first quarter of the "second" game as I had to get home:

Coburg  1.4-10
Springvale 2.1-13

Coburg were the better side but squandered goalscoring chances.

Only Richmond player playing was Hilton. Got abut 3-4 possies in the quarter playing across HB. Turnovered the ball at CHB with his first noticable possession trying to do too much rather than go the first option which resulted in a goal to Springvale. Made another error with his second possie but later on he made a good pass to a leading forward after winning the footy in the centre. Rory was running and turning well so he didn't seem to be experiencing any hinderance from his knee.

I heard Greg Miller on SEN last week and he was saying that Nick Raines, Rhys Monteath? and Daniel Strachan played with Coburg last weekend.

Don't know if it was the seniors or reserves and if anyone else can confirm.

Nick Raines and Daniel Strachan both kicked a goal each for Coburg seniors in their 71 point win over Bendigo. Not sure about Rhys though TS..

Thanks MT.  Not sure if they worry about printing results anywhere, or I just missed them.

We seem to have a number of potential father/sons running around at the moment.  Would be good if a few turn out to be pretty good players for Richmond, as well as their dads.

With all the possibles, plus those already on the list, we could just about make up half a team or so.

There's also Rhys' 16-17 year old younger brother Kym who before injurying his shoulder last year for East Freo Colts was absolutely flying. I haven't heard anything about him since though.

Coburg vs Sandy

From VFLfooty.com. Post by footyman:

Sandringham 3.0 5.2 7.5 11.10 (76)
Coburg 4.2 7.5 11.7 14.10 (94)

I'll fix the goalkickers up later cos I'm a couple short but:

Coburg - Limbach 2, McGuane 2, J Houlihan, A Houlihan, Polo, Monteath, Bourke, Meyer, Jackson

Sandringham had just four Melbourne reps in the team, Coburg probably had three times that in Richmond players. Rix, Jorgensen, Bruton, Carlson didn't play for Coburg.
