Summary

* Any win is a good win. Hadn't beaten Adelaide since 1999 so good to get away with the win.

* Newy has set those enthusiastic characteristics and boundaries. Running up and tapping guys after a goal and celebrating it. Not over the top though - keep it in the inner sanctum.

* Vickery - great find. Unfair on him last year doing a lot of the ruck at only 20. 35 goals and a great fall for Jack. Still play majority forward/ruck. His agility and ability to win ball at ground level is very good. Expect him to play majority forward.

* Jack wants to win so he's prepared to do whatever he has to. His assists this year have tripled. We've got the spread of goals we were after which is pleasing.

* Gourdis cleaned Jack up at training (knee in back) in a spoiling contest. Jack struggled for 2-3 weeks but okay now. Danny Daly spoke to him similar to Lloyd later in his career so Lloyd spoke about simplifying things.

* Cotchin - very good player. Single handedly got us over the line in the past couple of games.

* Newman very similar to Vandenberg at hawthorn. Guys you need at the club.

* Thought we came out half asleep and lazy. So Dimma went off at 1/4 time but it didn't work as we were ordinary in the 2nd qtr. Worked on things at half-time and improved after half-time.

* Cousins' leadership and teaching was very valuable for our young guys. No to getting Fevola.

* Trading - after anyone that will help our footy. Last year we targeted 5 players and got 2-3 of them. Hopefully Hartley and co. will land a couple of big fish this year.

* Relatively successful season - Rance, Vickery, Nahas, Lids have improved. We believe we have improvement left within the list for 2012.

* Selling games - we wouldn't have won anywhere if you saw us play. A learning experience but if you play poorly you lose wherever you play.

* King - they showed footage of Kingy having shots which missed when Nahas was open.

* Tuck - Very good. Sat down with both Tuck and Miller at start of the year and told them that there's a chance you'll play 15 games or none as it's about the development of younger guys. Great character guys and shown leadership. Giving us something since coming into the side in recent weeks and doing everything right but whether they will be around next year is a list management decision.

A little bit more ...

* Hardest decision in footy as coach to cut a older champion of the club (they were talking about Luke Power and Voss letting him go).

* Sub rule has grown on him. Opens up the game in the second half. We've found it works best for us by pulling off a taller player and bringing on a runner that can give you a spark. Webberley has been good for us the last couple of weeks.

* The Umps are great blokes. They make blues like all of us sometimes but in general they are pretty good.

* Collingwood or Hawthorn to win the premiership this year.

Interesting how he mentioned that he believed we were well ahead of most clubs in our trading methods. That the way we are targeting players and seeking them out is now 'scatter gun approach'. Heard him mention it on numerous interviews but when he is quizzed on trading for a new ruckman he is hesitant to agree but rather state that we are after any quality players. Wonder if Jackson and Cairlie were on the that list?

Must be you Owl, worked fine for me.  Can I suggest you change political sides?  Might find the sun shines brighter and things just work on the other side!   ;D ;D
