Rex Hunt calls it quits from commentating (Herald-Sun)
« on: September 01, 2011, 03:20:32 AM »
REX Hunt has called an end to 32 years of metropolitan football commentating.

Hunt has told Triple M that this year's AFL Grand Final will be his final game for the station.

The former 3AW star caller is about to start a new chapter in his career, fronting a national fishing radio show for Crocmedia called Off the Hook With Rex Hunt.

He also will comment on AFL games into regional centres for AFL Live, but says he is content to call a close on his career at a major Melbourne station.

yibbida yibbida that's all folks.

Loved his calls on 3AW in the mid 90's when he was on with Shane Healy circa 93-97.
The best radio caller at that time.

Hardly listen to MMM now. I just find the JB Spud Gary Lyon love fest and I know it all about footy and talking themselves up as "we have the exclusive story" when they have jack squat as quite dull and uninspiring.

Great caller Rex.
