But at the same time, WP, I didn't think Griff was running the same patterns or providing as much a chop-out for Jack as Miller was. It's a no-brainer to surmise that he hadn't been practising the game plan whilst injured, which was what I guess he was sent back to the two's to practise. I'm also guessing that learning some defensive skills in the two's would have been high on the agenda as well, whether his shoulder was right or not.
The shoulder excuse seems a little lame (sic). Running the correct patterns and defensive work ethic seemed to be his major issues to me.
Point well made Muscles - agree about the defensive side of things the vast majority of kids that come through from the TAC have no defensive side to their game to be honest
However, Griff spoke at the same pre-match function and told us that he had just had an arthroscope of his re-contructed shoulder to make sure everything was OK and that they had cleaned out the joint again to enable him to get full movment back in his shoulder and all is good. But he also mentioned that 6 weeks at Coburg before playing AFL was probably not enough. Makes you wonder (again
) why did they continue playing him if his shoulder needed another cleanout -- the logic beggars belief
Now I know someone who has had a shoulder reco (I know i've mentioned this before) but they've always said it takes a good 12 months to get full movement back after the op and you may think it's right to go but it isn't
