Positives from tonight's game?
« on: September 04, 2011, 10:43:08 PM »
Any positives from tonight?

The form of Nahas, Cotch and Rance
Dusty's hold-off and one-handed mark
Nahas' mark with the flight while being dragged back.

Any others?

The fact that any doubt that Daniel Jackson is substandard was so vividly erased that even his most strident supporters will have to admit they were wrong, he is poo and needs to go.

Season finished with no real serious injuries for pre season other than probably Moore and McGuane.
Thought we were the better team just kicked poorly and leaked soft goals. The result of getting pick 14 is better than a win whilst playing poorly and getting pick 18.
Jackson was as bad as ever which will hopefully see him traded.
Go Tigers!

WP.that's the problem.our good players always carry the team.easy solution for 2012.just get rid of the bottom 6 players that played yesterday and show them the door

Perhaps they can now be called Ninth Melbourne and we can move on.

At the beginning of the last quarter we had Cotch, Martin and Lids in the centre square  :bow  Looked bloody brilliant, make it happen next year Dimma - permanantly.

Nahas did some of the more courageous things you'd see from a player, copped knocks, ran back with the flight several times, one of his best games to date.

Nahas reminded Rawlings why he's retiring. Thrashed him in his last game  :thumbsup
We avoid 9th and get pick 12 instead of 18. Happy bout that  :thumbsup
Umps were effing terrible yesterday. Nearly as bad as the West Coast game.
Looking forward to seeing Vickery , Dusty and a few others after another full pre-season.

Nought got ninth two years in a row.
They are a team of goers whose best players are their oldest players.
Remind me of us in 2006 and 2008.
They're young kids other than Swallow are just soldiers no generals. They will fall off the cliff in the next few years and I will love it.
Nought Melbourne Nought Ballarat Naught Hobart Nought Timbuktoo Nought Manangatang whatever this nothing club call themselves in the future.
Skataboner spirit right there.

Pick 14 actually black but still better than 18!

The continued improvement of players such as Vickery, Rance, Martin, Cotchin and Nahas plus the improvement of many who didn't play in this game including Grimes and Batchelor. We have also seem glimpses of potential talent from Griffiths, Astbury, Conca, Helbig. Add the injection of depth and talent with the introduction of Houli (in particular), Grigg and Miller and we have clearly improved on last year with still plenty of probable development left in the majority of the list.

Very exciting really. Next year we will improve again with a more settled back 6, greater size, experience and depth in the middle, more time for our forwards to understand how to play cohesively and a ruckman who can compete  :pray.

I think we'll finally see finals action next year :birthday
