Fair enough discussion we have got to grow some ballz - simple as that, when we are there get some nuggets ... Sick of seeing the same old 'LOSERS' every year.. we will put them all to shame if/when we get there.
COUNT ON IT
The GF showed bigger bodies win finals and premierships as they can win their own ball and hold their ground under immense physical pressure to execute well. They can naturally throw their weight around being physical and tough. Our list all up contains too many small and lightweight players and I'm not talking about the young teenage cubs. For example re-signing both Nahas and Kingy for two more years is a poor decision.
I totally agree with you on the Big Bodies who can stand up in tackles and win collisions or contested marks. They must also be skillful users of the ball by hand and foot. We must recruit more heavy bodies and gees Im glad we didn't get Neil Craig as he doesn't get this fact. He lightened the Adelaide players and they ended up crap during finals as a result, twit. Melbourne stuffed up getting him.
Essendon under Knights also stuffed up here too, they must have been the most lightweight finals team in history under him.
Speed is not such a priority these days.
I disagree with King and Nahas, both have poven to be good small men who can tackle and apply pressure. Both are in our top 12 when fit. You could win a premiership with both of those players in the team, look at Stokes and Christensen or Burns and Stokes from a few years ago. But I doubt you could have a third small and any small must be a muscleman because they need to be able to not lose a physical contest, even if they dont win it. King has mastered the art of spoiling in the forward line against taller players, Nahas had bulked up significantly and should bulk more this pre season too if the fitness staff have any clue.
