Trade talk at your club - part 2 by: Jon Ralph
From: Herald Sun
October 05, 2011 RICHMONDGETTING involved heavily, and why wouldn't they after they got Shaun Grigg for basically nothing (the swap for Andrew Collins was inspired) and Bachar Houli in the pre-season draft.
The deal for Ivan Maric is getting bogged down through the same old reasons: Richmond doesn't want to give up much and Adelaide wants the world.
But these deals tend to get done after some trade-week argy bargy, sometimes involving a third party to help the selection of picks.
Ben Nason has been mentioned as a potential trade to Adelaide, and you get the feeling Richmond wouldn't be shattered to let him go.
He just couldn't crack a spot in the side much this year.
Dan Connors, an inspiration last year but injured this season, wants out.
And if a trade can be arranged, the Tigers will do it given they have plenty of half-backs who can use the ball.
Similarly, tall defender Luke McGuane would like greater opportunities and a deal would be done for the right price. But he is contracted, so could yet stay.
Matt White and Mitch Morton will both have their names thrown around at trade time.
Nathan Foley's name has been tossed around lately, but he isn't going anywhere. He is contracted for next year according to the club and he is a favourite of coach Damien Hardwick.
