TOM MITCHELL will play for the Sydney Swans in 2012 after the Sydney Swans, the club his father Barry Represented in the 1980s, gave up their first-round draft selection to nab the junior star via the father-son bidding rule.

Dylan Buckely and Jed Bews, both of whom were nominated by Carlton and Geelong respectively under the same bidding system, received no bids from other clubs. Both players can now make their way to the Blues and Cats via their clubs' last selection at the NAB AFL Draft.

Trade No.4

GOLD Coast gain pick 1 in mini-draft (Jaeger O'Meara) & Giants' round two pick (No. 31).

Trade No.5

ST KILDA has landed two mature-age players in a deal with Greater Western Sydney.

Terry Milera from SANFL club Port Adelaide and Ahmed Saad from VFL club Northern Bullants will join the Saints after GWS had the rights to them as they had previously nominated for the draft.

In return the Saints have downgraded their draft pick 20 to 25, giving GWS 12 of the first 20 picks at next month's NAB AFL Draft.

Trade No. 7

ADELAIDE has completed a deal to secure Norwood teenager Luke Brown and also intends to select promising 17-year-old Brad Crouch at Monday’s mini-draft.

The Crows have given Greater Western Sydney the compensation pick offered to Adelaide for losing Phil Davis, plus pick 10 from the 2011 draft, to secure the pair.

Trade No.8

BULLDOG injury-cursed Sam Reid will play for Greater Western Sydney next season.

Reid, 21, who played 10 senior games in three years plagued by shoulder and hamstring injuries, heads north s the fifth and final uncontracted player to join GWS this year.

The Giants are allowed to recruit one uncontracted player from each club over 2011-12 but can poach a second player from a single club with that team's permission.

The Dogs today gave the Reid move the OK, as Brisbane did last year when Jared Brennan and Michael Rischitelli both defected to Gold Coast.

The Bulldogs will receive a compensation draft pick, to be determined by the AFL, for losing Reid

Reid shared a house in Altona this year with Ward, who left the Dogs to join GWS on a multi-million dollar contract.
