FORMER North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley will work with new St Kilda coach Scott Watters in 2012 after signing on as an assistant.
Laidley was announced as the Saints' midfield coach on Wednesday, along with former Hawthorn strength and conditioning coach Peter Burge, who is the Saints' new high performance manager.
Laidley, 44, joins the Saints after spending two years as an assistant at Port Adelaide, and before that, seven years at the helm of the Kangaroos.

I can't see Dean offering much to give them an extra edge to challenge for the flag next year as there hoping to do.
