Didn't he have a really good pre-season last year as well including all the lead up games to the season proper?

Nope.  Had major shoulder surgery at the end of 2010 and spent almost all of the pre-season in a red vest for no contact.  Had minimal running as well apparently as he wasn't to do any pounding work.

But hey don't let facts get in the way of a vendetta.
