LISTEN: Could premiership Tiger be on the move?

HAS RICHMOND'S trade position on a premiership Tiger suddenly changed?

With the free agency rumours already heading into overdrive, the AFL Exchange crew debate whether the Tigers might need to suddenly start negotiations with a flag hero.

Join AFL.com.au reporters Mitch Cleary and Riley Beveridge – as well as Cal Twomey from the Gold Coast – for the latest whispers as the guys take you inside the AFL and delve into the big questions surrounding the game – and some of the not so big.

* Mail 6 weeks ago that Richmond weren't too concerned what Ellis' position was going into the year.

* He is a top 10 earner at Richmond in 2019 so he is a restricted free agent. He won't get a similar top 10 deal at Richmond given their cap and with their recent signings (i.e. Lynch, Martin, Cotchin, Rioli, etc).

* Both parties happy to hold off until the middle of the season.

* If they were Richmond they would want to re-sign him given his form but they feel Ellis will leave given he could get a 3-4 year deal on more money.

Lol! Proof that the average nuffie should never be allowed near professional football managers.

We would hope he gets offered a bucketload to go somewhere else and we get an end of first round compo. Every other scenario is probably a loss for us.

With Kelly being locked up, they’ve gotta throw some cash at someone.

Brando is a premiership hero. How many of those do North have???

He has turned down other clubs because he was getting overpaid at our club. Come the end of this year when his contract is up, he will be back on less than Sydney Stack if he stays and deservingly so.

He is a premiership player at Tigerland and no one can take that away from him but he will leave come years end.
He would be mad not too considering what we will offer him and what other clubs can.

With him gone and Grigg retired, our list will be all the better.

I must admit, since moving to the wing, he has been holding his position in the team with his on field performance. About as well as I've seen him play for a while.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

He's been good last couple of games though he's really not doing anything Turner won't eventually do better.... :shh

If he continues his recent form through the season then don’t see why the club shouldn’t retain him at the right price. If that’s not the case and he wants more money or a longer term deal then good luck to him. We have a few cubs coming through that look like promising outside players such as Naish and Turner so I think we already have a replacement if he does leave.

Stack is on what, 100k? You're saying he'd get less than that? Ellis at a minimum would still get 350k if he chose to stay.

Probably the silliest post by you to date.... :shh Normally very astute but this stab in the dark by you just angers me...... :shh :shh I am furious  :shh :shh :shh
