https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-04-30/listen-could-premiership-tiger-be-on-the-move* Mail 6 weeks ago that Richmond weren't too concerned what Ellis' position was going into the year.
* He is a top 10 earner at Richmond in 2019 so he is a restricted free agent. He won't get a similar top 10 deal at Richmond given their cap and with their recent signings (i.e. Lynch, Martin, Cotchin, Rioli, etc).
* Both parties happy to hold off until the middle of the season.
* If they were Richmond they would want to re-sign him given his form but they feel Ellis will leave given he could get a 3-4 year deal on more money.
