« on: December 08, 2011, 11:45:59 PM »
From Richmond_FC twitter:

"Richmond skipper Chris Newman will join Tim and Andy on @MorningGlorySEN tomorrow morning at 8.10am #gotiges"

If anyone can post a brief summary of what Newy talks about it'll be much appreciated   :cheers.

Summary

* Trip was good and fairly challenging and we knew it was going to be tough. Plenty of early mornings and hard training. Got a lot out of it. Good to be out in a new environment and overseas. Hard work but also had relaxing things to do such as going to the ice hockey and the NFL.

* A lot of areas of improvement needed as we finished 12th. Depth being one of them. A list where we can put pressure on those who have played for a while. We're building on that. Consistency the other one where we'd play well in patches then fall off badly in other patches. Hopefully both those areas come on in 2012.

* Moore slowly coming from a long way back. Hopefully he can put his hand up during the season. Grimes showed early on in the season he can mix it with the best in the comp. Hopefully get both those guys back in round 1.

* Maturity to play a big part in our improvement. Bodies that were fairly light can progress and mature. Also another 12 months playing together and understanding how we play. Hopefully it all comes together in 2012.

* Everyone talks up how big and strong they have become over the off-season. Edwards was one of those guys who was fairly lean. He's put emphasis on that and hit the gym over the offseason and put on 6kgs. He's now getting use to carrying that weight around. Game becoming more physical and some guys really thrive on that.

* A few of boys bought American sport tops. Normally fans over there wear bigger sizes but Jack went with the normal size and looked like a dill lol. Hopes the top stays in the closet in Melbourne lol.

* Was asked about Fev. Dimma pretty keen to go down the youth path and Dimma isn't one to be persuaded.

So.... Is Moore going to be 'ready' during the season or for round 1?  :huh But I'm glad we might be able to see him on the field again :) Hopefully he's able to catch back up.

I think what it means is he wont be right for round 1 but the Captain shouldn't have said that so he tried to correct it by saying 'we hope he'll be there'

I will be surprised if he's back in the AFL before the half way mark of the season.

It dosent help that he has a gash.......I can't believe we didn't drop him back to the rookie list? If he comes right just elevate him again next season if not well so be it but him taking up a space on the main list at the moment is a joke IMO.

This is exactly what I was hoping for. I just imagined there was something contractual involved. Did Goudis have to be paid out for his final year as it was?

I'm on my phone at the moment so I can't go find it, but if you go back through the RFC's videos on YouTube there is a good one of Moore from a while ago. Since he hasn't been running he's been building his guns and he looks tank as. Well spoken too.

DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.
