Tiga- well done, not just for the end result, which is terrific, but your flexibility in taking into account everyone's ideas into the finished product. I for one am glad to see our captain's nose back on his face again. Farewell to Popelord's great banner too, well done to both of you.

I think the club should utilise people like yourselves to do their internet banners and the likes, I'm sure you guys would do a banner for them for the cost of say a premium 16 game membership or so which would cost the club nothing.
Also this thread is a good example of getting ideas from members to contribute to the designs of a clubs image, it engages members and ends up a better product with the stuff.

Agree with all that DC.  The club should have engaged the supporters when looking for a new logo - they might have been pleasantly surprised at the outcome driven by passion rather than dollars.

Respectfully disagree. Too many chefs and you end up with the monstrosity that is the Demons logo.  :P

I'm happy for the club to engage industry professionals to present the club's brand. It's not something that just anyone can do and it's important to get right.
Recently the club has just engaged a new graphic designer and I am looking forward to seeing what looks the club develops over the next 12-18 months.

BTW nice job on the OER banner tiga. 8)

The club didn't have to accept any supporter based outcome as a done deal MM but the club could have done itself a favour by soliciting ideas from within that base and then passing that input to industry professionals.  I don't subscribe to the theory that only professional designers/marketers, by virtue of their qualifications, can generate a satisfactory result.  I give you the current Club website as an example.  I would stake my life on it that any number of supporters could have designed a far more functional and pleasing website than that one which was designed by current industry professionals.  Nothing guarantees failure more swiftly or surely than closing your mind to other ideas or options.

Again I respectfully disagree. Easy to be critical of professionals because everyone has an opinion on art but I guarantee if it was left to amateurs it would be an unmitigated disaster. There is a heck of a lot that needs to be taken into consideration when creating an overall brand for a multi million dollar organisation.
Looks easy, I assure you it isn't.

I give you the current Club website as an example.  I would stake my life on it that any number of supporters could have designed a far more functional and pleasing website than that one which was designed by current industry professionals.

The club is limited in it's control of the website's design due to it's affiliation with Telstra.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new product shortly and expect it to be a vast improvement.

Edwards was a good start, by this comment above I look forward to you setting the standard of not disagreeing with anyone for the rest of the pre season. ;)

tiga considered a banner with Edwards, Jackson, Connors and muched talked about Tigers of the past such as Eustice, Lounder, Biddiscombe, Houlihan and Fiora but he didn't want other supporters to have to go out and buy a new computer after logging onto OER and smashing their old one  ;D.
