There is too much money in football.
« on: January 26, 2012, 09:59:04 PM »
Why would you bother busting your guts to play footy at the highest level for Richmond?

It can't be the effort and performance because no matter how hard you work or how you perform the so called "supporters" drag you down.

It can't be passion for your club, because no matter how hard you work or how you perform the so called "supporters" drag you down.

It can't be ability because the so called "supporters", who never even got close to making the grade, drag you down.

It can't be because your dad was a Tiger superstar, because the so called "supporters" drag you down, no matter how hard you worked to achieve your own success and won, before succeeding at another club after being supported by the so called "supporters".

It can't be because you are a life member player or administrator of the club, because the so called "supporters" think you are a dud and want you out.

It can't be because you have kicked a squillion goals, because the so called "supporters" think you could never kick and should have kicked forty squillion. They also know what you need to do to correct those kicking errors, but they can't kick for nuts themselves.

It can't be because you are literate but have outstanding footy skills and know how to spell weather in the correct context whether it is raining or not, because the so called "supporters" live too close to a railway line.

It can't be because you love playing footy because the so called "supporters" don't love you because you are too skinny, too big, too fast, too many tattoos, too many grey hairs, too cute, two years too long in the system, too many injuries, too nice a bloke or too much bandwidth.

So why would you so called "supporters", who constantly knock most Richmond players, be bothered playing for Richmond, if you ever had the ability to have a chance?

From the way your posts are constructed I fully understand your problems with your wrist.

Go and see a Geelong supporter, they will have some ice in their handbag to help you out.

I don't quite understand where you are coming from on the first post.

And who is the son of a famous player you refer to?

I'm not surprised that you have trouble understanding English.

Many sons mate............... Bourke, Richardson, Bowden, Raines, Roach. I'm sure other posters will come up with a few others that have come under the wrath of anonymous internet posters.

So what do you see as the role of the supporter and how does that difer from the role of the member?

Fair enough.

Yes I would play for Richmond if given the chance. I would enjoy be payed a large sum of money to play a game for a living and I wouldn't care what anyone thought of me, especially not keyboard warriors.

Mate that is special. So would I.

So to answer your question.

The role of the supporter is to...............support. It's not hard to understand, surley, but don't call me surley.

Just like marriage vows....."through thick and thin, sickness and health, blah blah blah.

I've never seen the words.........dud, delist, hack, useless, gutless, as so regularly expressed on Tiger footy forums..............in any definition of SUPPORT......even for the guys that never got to play a single game for the Mighty Tigers, let alone guys with a long history of busting their guts for "our" club....ala, Richo, Joel, Krak, Tom Roach, etc, etc.
