Shaky groundBy Niall Seewang and staff writers
Wed 01 Feb, 2012AS THE new season approaches, every player from every team will be desperate to produce big years, but some will be under more pressure than others. AFL.com.au looks at the players most under the pump from each club.
Richmond Highly regarded at Tigerland, Kelvin Moore is a player whose career could be cut short due to crippling injuries. The key defender was elevated to the Tigers' leadership group in 2009 and developed in to one of the club's most reliable backmen before a hip complaint wiped out all of season 2011. After more surgery in December, the 27-year-old is enduring another interrupted pre-season and faces a battle to reclaim his spot in Richmond's new-look backline. Will need to prove his durability to reclaim his status as an automatic selection at Richmond.
Also feeling the heat: Also under the pump at Punt Road is Daniel Connors. The midfielder/half forward has only played 27 games since being drafted in 2006, adding just three last year. A self-confessed problem drinker, he has twice been internally suspended by Richmond for socially unacceptable behaviour. Connors has had more chances than most, is out of contract at the end of the season and has to be skating the thinnest of ice.
