In his short career I haven't seen anything to indicate that he can win his own ball. Seems to play 'bruise-free' football. I think he will make an excellent wingman but as to rotating through the stoppages and getting into the packs I'm unconvinced.
. Lids is courageous. He regularly backs into packs and he plays injured when he has to. I would never question his intent. He played outside when he played midfield because he was one of about three players at that time that could actually deliver the fooz. His most damaging assets are his speed and his footskills. Outside mid is the ideal position for him.
I hear ya Stripes, it still has to be produced doesn't it? All this talk about instant midfield success. Hope he does produce it, but i saw enough against StKilda last year to make me question it. He was given BOG in that game by many (not for mine) but the clangers under pressure amazed me - he loves (by his own admission) to float free and free wheel - he's worked on that of course and does have silky skills when left alone, but in the midfield he may not get that luxury. Could be half a step back to take a full step forward later in the year or next year. Will be better in time - 2013/4 will be his chance to be Brownlow material.
