It's sad that she died so young, but I was NOT a fan. That histrionic caterwauling in the Bodyguard song was just excrutiating to my ear. And the syrup-y sentimentality of the lyrics in the greatest love of all were a real two fingers down the back of the throat job...

I remember when my idol Layne Staley died as a result of prolonged drug abuse, I just thought "good riddance." It gives close family, friends and massive fans a relief that we no longer have to worry for their suffering.
