The elevation of younger players to the leadership group also gives an insight to a club's long-term view of possible successors to the incumbent. With that in mind, we looked at who might be the next captain of your club.

Richmond:

Probably the safest bet of the next captain market would be that Trent Cotchin will lead the Tigers after Chris Newman is finished with the job. Cotchin has been groomed for the role for several seasons and now as a proven performer at AFL level, seems ready made for the job. Brett Deledio is probably next in the running, but the Tigers will just be happy for him to sign another contract.
