GWS just missed out again on their first win. In front with just over 3 minutes to go and a Pie first-gamer pulls a flukey kick from the boundary that went through for the winning goal.

Collingwood also won the middle game against the Dogs (shocking standard game apparently) but lost MacCaffer who did his knee.

I guess the Pies and Dogs being so woeful at least meant the new home team was more than competitive. GWS will struggle to win a game but I think on their day when all their senior players and kids are on they'll have a defence and midfield plus the enthusiasm as a new side that will beat another struggling bottom side to score their first win say by the middle of the year. The top sides though will beat GWS by 100 points like the Suns found out last year.

Been listening to SEN, sounds like it will be a tough match up in perth against Freo.

Bummers have struggled in both matches.

Got to love the way the Bombers went about their business tonight.
Two games two massive losses and a thorough exposure of their inadequacies.
I know its only Round 1 NAB but that good will, cheer and optimism that came in when Jimmy came to the helm and swept them to a NAB final loss to Collingwood a 139 point win against Gold Coast and then a 16 point loss to Richmond in the Dreamtime game is evaporating quickly.

It will be great when the natives find that the Golden Boy will not be answer and start to turn on him.
It will be so sweet and oh so Richmond like. :lol :rollin :lol

took the train in to SubiPaterson oval yesterday to get my 1st fix of footy for 2012

I know its only preseason practice but a few of observations

the red and black are lacking leadership and a spark, tried lots of different things but none looked sucessfull, sure they played a lot of young boys but if thats their future then the only way is down

the Eagles look to have improved (again) on last year, their forward press was outstanding and they always back each other up and protect the ball carrier. Weedon has a good set of mitts Cox was brilliant Hurn shone as well
I hate to say it but they look to be top 4 again

the Freo saints showed plenty of Ross Lyons influence, too bloody defensive !!!  kick ins always to the pack (and turned over under tight defensive pressure) no one was prepared to leave their man and be a lead up target for the kick in, Lachie Neale showed potential. but apart from Pav, the rest, inc big Sandi were very average

looking forward to Sunday fortnight, reckon on what I've seen this weekend  we are a big chance to get our 2nd win
