Quote
ST KILDA is set to play matches for premiership points in Wellington, New Zealand as early as next year.

The Saints have held talks with the AFL about playing games in the New Zealand capital, similar to Hawthorn's lucrative arrangement in Tasmania.

It is believed St Kilda is investigating playing on Anzac Day in New Zealand, against yet-to-be determined opposition, immediately after the Collingwood v Essendon MCG blockbuster.

We should get on the end of that as the away team.

1. Rather play the Saints on a neutral ground than their home ground
2. Wellington's "home" colours are yellow & black
3. Dustin Ngati Maru Martin and the big Islander Piva
4. We've already dipped a toe into NZ with a pre-season camp
5. Stick it up Collingwood and Essendon

Saints do all the hard work and we fleece them  :-*

If the club aren't looking at this because they have the India thing on the boil then they are negligent. No reason we can't do both.

After the past 10 years I want to see us finally beat and flog them live at the 'G. We owe them big time :yep. Extra travel doesn't help the players for the following week's game either.

Sorry mighty tiges but St Kilda aren't an MCG tenant so they won't be playing home games there.

Also NZ is closer than Perth. Travel is part of the modern game and the top sides are the ones that handle it. bunnies are the ones that winge about it.

We are not gypsy's Gerks

we dont need NZ and we dont need to allign ourselves with a rabble club like Stkilda

we are starting to match them on the field and i believe we can beat them anywhere

Nothing gets me more angry when we lost to a spud outfit that includes Kosi and Ray.

We are not gypsy's Gerks

Not our home game
No different to playing Freo or Brisbane except we get to hijack a new market at the cost of someone else
If you want parochial football go follow the VFL. This is the top flight babe.

When a Victorian club moves home games interstate or O/S against another Victorian club then as far as I am concerned that club is fornicated in the rectum. Plans like these are usually sparked up at Nought Melbourne who stay in Melb for 30 fans and refuse $100 million to play permanently on the Gold Coast. :help

For them or any other club to take out travel insurance and travel costs only for the governing body to pay them a token handout for playing there is merely ludicrous. By the way I thought Hawthorn we're looking at NZ a few years ago. :-\

Furthermore why would those Bayside Heathens want to play us away from Melbourne if, we are up and running and a bona fide finals side and they are living up to the on field sorry standards they have been since 1897 when the crowd and dollars generated will be on a par with them playing the Skunks or the Filth at Etihad. :whistle

So why would we want to beat those failures in NZ in front of a handful of expats and curious Kiwis who'll lose interest 5 mins into the first quarter and will be queuing for the bar for a couple of pints of DB Draught. Personally not having beaten them since 2003 I and most other RFC fans I would like to think would love to beat those footy inferiors where retribution in the stands will be swift splendid spectacular and oh so sweet. :cheers

To watch them lose to us live will be akin to the wonderful nauseous feeling you get when you know you have the lady friend you are chatting to right where you want her and you know where its leading. :thumbsup

And any assistance we can give to relocate them off-shore permanently should be looked at seriously  ;D

When these nothing sides like them and Nought have these so called grandiose plans and we are the other party to a what is perceived by them as a positive outcome at our expense then fornicate off.

Eureka game clearly means more to Nought than us.

There is a reason why they are on field failures with off field frailties.

Bring back the days of the 60's and 70's in the modern era where the on field rivalries were just as brutal and intense as the off field bragging rights against Scummy clubs who also were clearly beneath us.
