Woohoo!
« on: April 03, 2005, 05:32:32 PM »
Well done Tiges. A good and gutsy team effort. The Hawks might have had more scoring shots but goalkicking is a skill and we did it better. We had the stronger forward line and that got us over the line in the end.

Cambo, Deledio, Johnno (with a crook ankle), Cogs, Browny and Pettifer (with 2 goals) came to the party in the last quarter. Newman was great with the kick-ins.

I had to pick my dad up at the airport and heard  Simmonds got reported. Is that right?

Anyway great feeling to finally score  a win  :cheers

Thanks for that RR. Didn't look much in it seeing it in the news  ???

Forgot to give Joel a rapt too. As Terry said in the after-match press conference our senior players stood up today. Good to see Hartigan have a good game as well.

Good to get a win. Thought our standard of play was terrible today but at least we showed some ticker and battled it out. :thumbsup

SEN just read out the tribunal details. Simmonds name wasn't mentioned so sounds like they have rightly thrown out that ridiculous charge on him.

Thought the dogs Rawlings got 3 weeks but it's his brother at the Roos.

From afl.com.au

"And the reports laid on the day by field umpires against Essendon's Dean Solomon (rough play), Hawthorn's Simon Beaumont (charging) and Richmond's Troy Simmonds (striking) were all withdrawn by the match review panel."

So Hunky Spunk will be around for next week's drool session ladies. ;)  For those not able to get to the game, time to clean those tv screens.
