Squad of 25 this week rather than the 29 of previous preseason matches.

In: Deledio, Browne, Morris

Out: Dea, Connors, Helbig, White, Derickx, Webberley, Wright ...... all but Helbig didn't play last week anyway.

Arnot didn't play either last week but remains in the squad.

Arnot looks in ripping touch in the Coburg highlights video.

I reckon if Miller & Mini Maric weren't "certs" to be promoted after last week then this week's squad has to make them deadset "certs"  ;D

Reminder: this weeks praccy games are played under normal H&A rules. The silly 2/2 is out and the 3/1 bench polcy is back

Unless Arnott Brown and Morris have blinders, they will probably miss Round 1.
That then makes 22, Conca in for King, with Conca being the sub for round 1.

Why are we playing (risking) Cotchin and Martin ? They looked a million bucks last week....why do they need another gallop ?

Hmm two full strength sides. I could now be tempted to head down the Hume/Federal for this one.  :thumbsup

All clubs are trying to get a set amount of total game time (= total minutes) into players; would think thati s why they are playing. Remebering last week was the first full game they've played this pre-season only played halves up to that point

Best to give then a fair run of form before they hit round one. Sure there's a risk but no more than playing multiple weeks in a row during the season proper. Also, in terms of Cotch and Martin, Dimma would be keen to finally play Lids along side them so they have a better understanding of each others game, where they fit, what combinations suit best etc.

They still have 12 days left between this game and the season opener to get over any minor niggles. The benefits outweigh the potential risks at this stage. They should be fine.

considering the amount of match simulation training they do, worrying about injuries in practice matches is pointless worry.

They have the amount of game time each player get mapped out, in preparation for round 1, and in terms of injuries, what will be , will be.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

I would think the club mindset to have a good start to the year.
Playing another game and getting things right will only benefit all players.
Especially guys like Grimes down back.
Play them into form I say
