North eyeing top 4 lol (BF)
« on: March 18, 2012, 03:27:59 PM »
I saw this posted on BF:

North Melbourne young gun Ben Cunnington has declared the Kangaroos are a potential top four side. Speaking at the North Melbourne media day, the former number 5 pick announced the side had what it took to challenge the better teams.

“We believe we have the list and the availability to make the top four and hopefully this year’s the year we climb up the ladder” Cunnington told BigFootyNews.com.

I couldve started with the usual remarks... But let's skip that and think about this.
Despite having a soft draw, this is the same club that was spanked by the top 4 clubs last year by at least 60 pts. And that's without checking.

Top 8 is realistic given their draw, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

In 2011

Geelong L 66
Collingwood L 87 L 117
Hawthorn L 17
West Coast L 4
Carlton L 8
Sydney L 1
St Kilda L9 L 65
Essendon W 21

That's one win in 10 games against top 8 opposition and a fairly soft draw as the season turned out playing the 2010 Grand Finalists twice.

For teams outside the eight
Fremantle L 29
Richmond L 9
Brisbane L 14.

Fairly soft draw as it turned out in 2011 and from what I understand its a fairly soft draw again this year. I guess they need to say something crazy far fetched and unlikely to increase their membership from 5 to about 10 so I can see their motives in doing so.

Now with Dimma signed I believe Scott is another coach who is either out of contract at the end of this year or next but the blowtorch may be turned on at full power right in his face if Nought continue to try and be flat track bullies and beat the mediocre sides only to get bullied themselves when they play the elite sides and fail to beat the rest of the top 8 sides.

Their development and those words will come back to haunt them very quickly if things go awry for them. Furthermore if the rumour mill is true and Bastinac is heading to GWS perhaps that might affect the club too.

FWIW its pie in the sky stuff but then again this nothing club hence they are called nought are merely trying to earn the public's symapthy on them being something that they will never be a worthwhile competitive well supported club. Skataboner spirit for a skata club.

I like what you do Tucker..  :thumbsup

I'll also point out that some journo's (cant remember which ones but on SEN talkback) were sympathetic with Nort callers saying how hard their draw was for the first 5-6 rounds last year ::)

here its is:

RD 1 Sunday, 27 March (4:10 pm)   West Coast 13.14 (92)   def.   North Melbourne 13.10 (88)   Patersons Stadium (crowd: 35,878)
RD 2 Saturday, 2 April (2:10 pm)   North Melbourne 7.14 (56)   def. by   Collingwood 21.17 (143)   Etihad Stadium (crowd: 40,578)
bye rd 3
RD 4 Sunday, 17 April (2:40 pm)   Fremantle 18.19 (127)   def.   North Melbourne 14.14 (98)   Patersons Stadium (crowd: 34,779)
RD 5Sunday, 24 April (4:40 pm)   North Melbourne 14.19 (103)   def. by   Richmond 17.10 (112)   Etihad Stadium (crowd: 36,461)
RD 6Saturday, 30 April (2:10 pm)   North Melbourne 18.25 (133)   def.   Port Adelaide 10.13 (73)   Etihad Stadium (crowd: 16,014)

Enough said oh great crowd in Rd 6  ::)

1.Essendon  Etihad      W
2.GWS          Tassie      W
3.Geelong     Etihad      L
4.Sydney       SCG         L
5.Gold Coast Etihad     W
6.West Coast Pattersons W
7.W Bulldogs  Etihad      W
8.Port             AAMI        L
9.Brisbane     Etihad     W
10.Hawthorn    Aurora    L
11.Bye
12.Gold Coast  Metricon  W
13.Adelaide      Etihad     Possible
14.St Kilda        Etihad     L
15.West Coast Tassie    L
16.Carlton        Etihad    L
17.Richmond   MCG       L
18.Melbourne   Etihad    W
19.W Bulldogs  Etihad
20.Essendon    Etihad    W
21.Collingwood Etihad    L
22.Fremantle    Etihad    W
23.GWS            Skoda    W

Pretty soft draw.
Gold Coast twice in first 12 rounds.
Key note I have split games between them and the Dogs. Can't split it and gave a possible to the Adelaide one.
Play Geelong Collingwood Hawthorn Carlton Sydney St Kilda once from last years finalists.
Helping hand of GWS and Gold Coast twice as well as Essendon whom they have had recent good results against as well as the Dogs and West Coast who are a top 4 team from last year.

They have been crying out for the last three years claiming they need to beat a top 4 side to make the 8 yet they have been handed a golden draw and they may get in there based on the results they will achieve against Essendon, Dogs, Us, home game against the Crows and the Dockers.
Round 13-22 are critical.
13 games at Etihad also.
Don't travel to Geelong play, Play West Coast in Perth and travel to the soft 4 interstaters Port Brissy GWS and Gold Coast.
If they can pinch Sydney in Round 4 all we will hear for the rest of the year is skataboner skatila.

Once again a loophole in the system for Nought to possibly get into the 8 on the back of an easy draw with favourable opponents. Noone will care to bring this up b/c nobody cares for such a Nothing footy club with 5 supporters. Instead skataboner this and skataboner that. This club lives on making hemselves better than what they are. They could finish 13-9 with a % of 90 still getting thrashed by the top 4 or 5 sides but no one in the media will mention it because they will have a positive win to loss ratio. Garbage characterless nought nothing niente skata footy club.  ::)

If they can win both against the bums and the Dogs they could win as many as 14 games.
Will be like 2005 finish fifth and lose an Elimination against Port in Melbourne by 89 points.
That's skataboner spirit right there.

Top in inept membership. In fact Premiers back to back to back to back
Top in fans see the last point.
Top in home grounds. Premiers fact just ask MT and his ditty.
Top in no finances.
Top in non attendances
Top in stupidity.
Top in characterlessness
Top in skata
Top in low bank balances
Top 4 in great and futile dreams
Top 4 in useless President and Board
Top in nothing footy club

If someone offered you $100 million to live a better life because you were effin losers would you take it. Enough said.

Top of the tree on useless decisions.

Yeah 10000 Fitzroy supporters on the back of Brissy's crushing winning last week over GWS.
AFL officials, a heap of Auskickers and a sprinkling of Nought supporters.

Blame the weather? No
Blame the draw? Can't play GWS and Gold Coast twice
Blame the club? Skataboner spirit is what we are all about.

Then cram yourselves you footy nobodies into the bottom deck of Etihad and Go Brisbane.

19,988 people for a home game is shocking.

To get under 20K in Melbourne for a home game just shows how charcterless soulless hapless and helpless this garbage footy club is and why they are penniless.

Get a hammer and nails and board the place up. What a waste of time and money they are.

Arden Street = Wastelands.

Want to go somewhere and think you are someone and part of something when in reality where you are is nothing come to Arden Street or more commonly known as Wastelands.
