If Campbell was our best player in the last 25 years then no wonder why we have been so pathetic. Has nothing on Knights as a player or captain.

Now this may sound a little crazy but had we 10 or so others in last 20 years that scaled his heights at the level, as in 2 x AA...4 B&F...we'd probably be talkin a dynasty :shh....but nahhhh, sheesh he woz no good :lol

Never said he was no good but B&Fs at Richmond have meant nothing for a long time. Dan Jackson was runner up a few years ago. Tambling finished 4th in the same year based on a good 2nd half of the season. Cambo was a good player. Not on Richo's level or Knightas.

Oh boy
I never seen Wayne Campbell play a bad game
The rest played some shockers
Who would ever forget Richos last game of the year the day we played Melbourne
Had handful of possessions that basically cost him the Brownlow
And we all forgot the time knights got dropped due to 5 poor games in a row
There will always be Campbell knockers but he never played a bad game
297 games he played

was capped twice as an all australian davey, that to me would suggest he was an elite level ::)

Yeah he was a very good player BJ. Richo was AA 3 times. Gaspar would have been a few times as well. So what.

Bowden was a two time AA. ::)

Early in his career Campbell was a gun.

As the club under Casey/Frawley started to unfold post 2001, Campbell lost all credibility especially after Knights captaincy fiasco.

The thing that has intrigued me is that although fairly to an extent Campbell is seen as reviled by sections of the RFC faithful yet Bowden who epitomises the failure of the club in terms of the way he played and put himself before the club is seen as inappropriate.

IMHO I would not have Bowden in a top 10 but that's me. Never rated him and never will. Overrated player who was an excellent off field communicator and hence got away with his on field frailties. He had a beautiful left foot kick and silky skills yet rather than use them off half back was happy to accumulate 30-40 possies with short kicks and no penetration but he played well on Jonno Brown a few times and therefore his game style is pardoned for the other duties he performed.

To sum him up a mate (Jake King) is beset upon by 4 Pies yet he stands by with hands on hips and does nothing. Being his last game he could have gone in and helped as any suspension would have been null and void seeing he never played again but he thought of himself as he always has in his footy career. Never set an example for others on field always came out squeaky clean and absolved when the chips were down regardless.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, why don't you try reading JJ's post. He is who I was talking to, champ. Do you understand that, guy? Cambo is probably close to top 5 but he wasn't near our best, chiefy. Jack said that he was our BEST, big guy. You understand now, pal?
