Bowden was a two time AA.
Early in his career Campbell was a gun.
As the club under Casey/Frawley started to unfold post 2001, Campbell lost all credibility especially after Knights captaincy fiasco.
The thing that has intrigued me is that although fairly to an extent Campbell is seen as reviled by sections of the RFC faithful yet Bowden who epitomises the failure of the club in terms of the way he played and put himself before the club is seen as inappropriate.
IMHO I would not have Bowden in a top 10 but that's me. Never rated him and never will. Overrated player who was an excellent off field communicator and hence got away with his on field frailties. He had a beautiful left foot kick and silky skills yet rather than use them off half back was happy to accumulate 30-40 possies with short kicks and no penetration but he played well on Jonno Brown a few times and therefore his game style is pardoned for the other duties he performed.
To sum him up a mate (Jake King) is beset upon by 4 Pies yet he stands by with hands on hips and does nothing. Being his last game he could have gone in and helped as any suspension would have been null and void seeing he never played again but he thought of himself as he always has in his footy career. Never set an example for others on field always came out squeaky clean and absolved when the chips were down regardless.
