they're charging  :banghead

Why wouldn't they?

They are putting on a feed and opening up the place when it would normally be closed which means they have to pay for staff etc....

If they didn't put the thing on people will complain, they do something and people complain  ;D ;D :rollin :rollin

I don't care I'll be in Geelong, should be free for social cub members and should be a choice if you want to eat or not!

Agree.  Would attend if I was down that way that weekend.  Sadly my first trip to Vic this year is the first weekend in May - yep, vs Port at AAMI.

Gee, how hard would it be for the club to put on a sausage and a can of Kirks lemonade, it would cost about $1 a head.
Staff? Club has a list of volunteers that may not be able to make it to Geelong.

Why should it be free? Because an 18 game membership is now effectively a 17 game one. I know you are an accountant WP but not everything is about money  :cheers

I agree with you DC if they held that on Punt Road oval but I think the cost is tied in with running it at the social club - you wouldn't be able to use volunteers as bar staff, security etc so there would be a bit of cost and we can't be crying poor and putting our hands out (FTF) while we put on free functions to watch games that fans would normally spend money on/at.  Also, if they held it on the oval then there would be the cost of hiring a big screen.  Maybe not huge dollars in any of it I know but when most fans budget on spending some $$s at the footy anyway then that amount doesn't seem unreasonable to me.
