Yeah, and am I the only one that's noticed Maric's been beaten in every game this year :outtahere

In which aspect? He dominated the hit outs verse Carlton, Jolly beat him in hit outs but he smashed him in stats around the ground, and same deal with Jamar and we still managed to win the clearances against Melbourne. Not sure what you want?

jamar gave him a lesson in how to take and keep front position
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Thus Jamar's 34 hitouts to Maric's 24. Too bad Jamar did sweet FA else. Plodding potato head.

Kruz stuffing flogged Maric in round one. That's okay though because Kruzer will be too good for most ruckman in future. Dwaino, he dominated in hitouts against Carlton yet you don't mention the impact Kruz had around the ground? Then you say he got more of the footy then Jamar and Jolly (Jamar got as much of it as Maric did)  yet you don't talk about the actual ruck work? You can't have it one way and not the other, guy. Take your Richmond goggles off and face the facts. Maric is a battler...small upgrade on Graham, Pear etc.

stuff me, I miss Stafford that much it's not funny :banghead

I think everyone accepts Kreuzer and even blokes like Nic Nat will smash Maric and most rucks around the ground? The way you just argued the point means Maric hasn't lost every game. Does a ruck man win if they win disposals or hit outs? He's won different games in different areas, so he hasn't been beaten every game then has he? And no, he got more touches (and more contested) than Jamar. Spent less time on the ground and had 25% better efficiency. Take your Graham goggles off and realise he is a spaz . Seen a Coburg game? The dork can't even bend his needs. He tries to reach out for a footy on the ground with his feet firmly planted in cement for effs sake. Sandringham had a ripe old chuckle at Graham (and Wright) at their match review last monday.

I acknowledge Maric is an upgrade on Graham, so not sure why you need to bring him up? Obviously you can't defend the guy without having to bring up our mistakes of the past. Compared to most ruckman Maric can't play. Can take a decent grab and is fitter than Pear/Graham/TD which makes him better by default. Doesn't mean he's actually any good. Yes, I have seen a Coburg game. Graham was solid and they're happy with him there. Probably why he's been 1st EMG two weeks running. :outtahere

I didn't argue it at all like that. I just countered your pathetic attempt at defending Maric when you said he dominated the hitouts against Carlton :lol 25 hitouts is not dominating. Matty Kreuzers performance around the ground was dominating. Jamar's ruck performance against Maric was dominating. Neither didn't anything of note around the ground. Similar story against Collingwood with Dawes and Jolly. Jolly beat him in the ruck but both did SFA around the ground. I'm just a little tired of people talking about this guy like he's our saviour.

Kreuzer is a champ, no denying that. But I was wondering as to what you meant by Maric losing every game so far. So I thought I'd go check up some generic stats from the AFL site and he won and lost different columns every time. I'll admit he's no world beater and I hope we're seriously looking at somebody from somewhere that is ready to go and will help move us on, but for the first time in years we've got a bloke who is actually competitive against the rest of the rucks in the competition.

Damn straight, don't we all!  ;D I was spewing we didn't rookie that Bolger bloke. A few of the current ruckmen (well, I know Sam Jacobs was anyway) were either upgraded rookies or rookies snatched by another club when delisted.

maric negates the opposition ruckman as much as he beats them.

we have 10 more h/o than our oponents so far, which isnt huge, but are ranked 4th for least opponent hit outs but only 13th for hit outs ourself.  either we are just having a lot less ruck contests in our games or a lot of the ruck contests are a draw

i reckon vickery has been better at tapping to advantage than maric, despite his crap form. against colonwoood maric fed their mids heaps.

the backmen would appreciate the way maric drops back and gives a chop out though

Herald-Sun Footy Barometer - Round 4

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK: How long do the Tigers give Ty Vickery? The man needs to stand up and take a mark

ON THE CUSP:  Hard to get a gauge with Coburg having a bye in the VFL at the weekend. There’s been talk about Jeromey Webberley, who’s been impressive in the seconds to date.

ELIZA SEWELL'S FORECAST: It’s bleak. So the Cats lost to the Kangaroos and the last time that happened, back in Round 5 2007, they played the Tigers the following week and thumped them by 157 points.

Got nothing to lose against the cats. Everyone saying we are going to get thumped. So changes wise if going to drop Vickery bring in Griffiths. Drop Jackson bring in either Webberley or White. Jackson's disposal was not any better against Melbourne. Drop him.

How about the AFL consider a rule change. We get rid of the bounces and throw ins, turn them into centre rolls and boundary roll in's, make all ruckman redundant. No more whingeing. problem solved.  :thumbsup
If we do this, players like Tucky & Cotch will be the new Vodka's & Nick Nats of AFL.  ;D
