whats acceptable next week/ what do people expect?

Not expecting a win. Geelong will be quietly reminding themselves (and us) of the 10 goal shellacking we handed them during preseason and that the real stuff is now. Just want an honest effort from the boys, the only thing that would be unacceptable is a subpar effort and 10+ goal loss. Some big individual battles for some of our up and coming players, rance/Grimes v Hawkins/Pods, our mids vs theirs. Looking forward to it, teams have now more or less settled, this will be a good indicator of how we're travelling

A win for me.

Well I am actually with you MT, if we can get out of the blocks well and play with the skill we did in the NAB game down there and player like Martin, Lids, Riewoldt, etc.. Fire with the blokes that fired today we could pull this one off....

Everything must click though.

Yeah they will dissapear this week but will be back in force next week. We all expected 1-4 (hoped for better) but that wont stop them.

As far as I go, I expect a loss  but Im hopefull that the preseason win was no fluke. The naysayers can go take a running jump for a few weeks yet.  Wouldnt  it be great if we could tell those who love to knock to pee right off with a win.

what are your expectations for the next 2 weeks and why?

If we defeat WCE here then it is a reasonable effort at 2-3.

We have a decent cluster of 3 games after the Eagles, we beat them and being at 4 or 5 wins going into round 9 against the Hawks is doable.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

i see the west coast game as being winnable, but we need to bring our best game that day. we can win, but i dont 'expect' us to win as i expected us to win yesterday

Hope we win..and i have a gut feeling we'll give it a real red hot effort..as for geelong reminding themselves of the pre season flogging,i suspect geelong take as much of notice of pre season as carlton did.
