Freo chase Travis Cloke with $1 million per season offer

FREMANTLE has entered the fight for Travis Cloke with a knockout offer of about $1 million a season.

As Cloke discussions continue with Collingwood, the Dockers have become the first interstate club to make a genuine play for the powerhouse forward.

The Dockers have spoken to Cloke's manager, his father David. Talks are in their infancy.

Cloke is at the top of the Dockers' free-agent hit list.

This year he is believed to earn about $500,000 and could expect a rise to $700,000-$800,000 in any new deal at Collingwood.

Even if Cloke stays at the Pies they are going to be made to pay for it . Damir will be happy all this competition is pumping up his son's next salary.

As much as it won't happen it would be ironic if Travis ever ended up a free agent at Richmond. It would be payback for 1983.

I dont know maybe its me but apart from 1 good year what has Cloke actually done.

He was spoon fed pin point passes in their grand final year and now that they are not at their peak he is struggling.

I dont rate him in that A Grade league

I think Cloke was only a fairly good player before last season. However he was amazing last year. Best mark in the comp and he improved his goal kicking in a big way.
