How about the team stands up, always singling players out.... :whistle....

By players I mean players that can play at AFL level..... ;)

what stage of the game did this happen willy?

2nd qtr al, right in front of me. I said when you posted about it last week that i hadn't watched the replay and wanted to see what the TV showed comapered to what I witnessed in front of me

You gave the time as being about 7 odd mins to go it he qtr & for memory you suggested that the vision showed he got held by an eagles player or was impeded by an eagles player.

I've watched the replay in ful and I can tell you that what shows up on the TV certain doesn't show the full vision of of what happened, that is it certainly doesn't looks as bad on the TV and that's because I reckon perhaps if they gave a wider angle of say 10 seconds earlier then you'd get a much better idea of what I saw live at the game. He stopped before the Eagles' player got near him

no, he slowed because the ball bounced straight up and the eagles bloke then put his arm into houli's chest, stopping him in his tracks

not at any stage did houli take his eyes off the ball.

i'd suggest you have another look with a view to see what happened, not what you already believe happened.

Bit harsh on Houli
He is a gun player who has balance and class and can actually kick a ball
We need more Houlis

al, I don't need to watch the replay again because as I said what I saw in front of me doesn't show up on the replay; that's my point. What I saw on the day happened prior to when he got near or there was any contact by the Eagle player = he stopped & propped that is what I saw not from the camera side of the ground but from the side it actually happened on

Further to that at half time I reckon where I was sitting there were at least 6-8 people standing around talking about it. Are you suggesting that we all got it wrong?

It's not about what I believed happened it's about what I saw on the day.

Have said time & time again what you see at the ground can be very different to what you see on TV

Throwing "gun" around pretty easily. He's an okay player.

Yes i am suggesting you all go it wrong. Sometimes you need to see things a couple of times to see what actually happened.

The Tv footages follows houlie as he trys to make ground to mark the ball then as he tries to collect it off the ground. There is nothing he has done that is not in the vision.

The ball takes one of those awkward bounces straight up, which can be seen on the vision. Houlie with eyes on the ball adjusts his pace accordingly but is then given a dont argue which stops him in his tracks.

It's not a case of the TV footage not showing what happened in front of you, it's that the TV footage doesn't show what you thought happened in front of you.

If it had been someone who didnt have rep for not going hard at times, it wouldn't have even have stuck in the memory.

Perception often takes time to catch up with reality.

If we had more players like him who actually think before they kick the ball, we would be playing finals.
He is there as the "release " player as well.

I think we will have to agree to disagree

Because I know what I and alot of other people saw on the day , I also know what I saw on the replay (and btw seeing I have it on DVD have watched it more than once & will watch a few more times) and the replay doesn't show what I saw. I know what  I saw on the day.

And BTW I don't think he's past reputation or any other players past plays any part in it.  IMV these things stick no matter who it is because it is something you rarely see from players these days; especially senior players.

I saw it too, and its not the first time from Houli. That being said, all AFL players have 10 times the courage i have. Some players have more than others though. Bachar has some nice tools. Hardness is not one of them. But not everyone can be Stevie Morris.

True. Would be nice if everyone had his courage and attack on the ball, though.

Agree and the Morris way is not something you can teach either
