Goalkicking midfielders
« on: April 16, 2005, 06:17:41 PM »
IMV we still need more goals from our midfielders. So far we have relied on Richo (10.8) and Brown (9.3) for our scoring with cameos from Pettifer (5.0) and Krakouer and (4.0). Only Tuck, Cogs and Cambo with 2 goals for the year have kicked more than 1.

With Bowden playing in the backline and Browny in the forward line I struggle to think of any midfielder that can step up and regularly nail goals for us.

Tivendale? perhaps, but his form has been pretty bad and i don't expect a big improvement from him.

Chaffey  :help

Hyde and Tuck aren't really the best finishers so can't expect too much there.

Hopefully when Kane Johnson gets back he can become a lot more of an attacking midfielder than he was during the spud years.

Given our dominance out of the midfield and around stoppages we just had to kick the footy to leading tall forwards today. Still I thought we were a bit better in regards to midfielders pushing forward to have shots. They just couldn't put it between the big sticks in the windy conditions - Brown 2.4, Cogs 0.2, Krakouer 0.2, Tuck 0.1 and Newman 0.1  :-\.
