I'd be more confident if Nahas was Stephen Hill and Kingy was Cyril

Probably get the both them for the same price as Travis...

laff  :shh

Haven't heard that name mentioned in a long time. I wonder where old laff & diggler are now? Probably sipping Pina Colada's in a coterie huddle discussing all the possible options of getting Cloke to Richmond.

Bad time to give away draft picks.

I agree Coach. Only has pace on his side. Outside downhill Skier if you ask me. Watched him against the Swans at the SCG and he did SFA. Plus only 12 tackles in 7 games of footy this year.
Fyfe on the other hand. Similar build but hard as nails. I'd have him in a heartbeat.

No Cloke: Hardwick
By Paul Daffey
2:40 PM Fri 18 May, 2012

RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick has all but ruled the Tigers out of joining the race for Collingwood key forward Travis Cloke, saying the club would be unable to justify the outlay that would be required to recruit him.

Hardwick said that while Cloke's financial demands were unknown, the salaries being spoken about were out of the Tigers' range.

Cloke is reportedly in the market to earn $1 million a year if he leaves Collingwood when his contract expires at the end of the year.

Fremantle, Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs have been linked with the key Magpie.

On Thursday, Greater Western Sydney chief executive Dave Matthews said his club had no interest in Cloke.

"If he's on [such] a high amount of money he's not going to be at our footy club," Hardwick said on AFL.com.au's Access All Areas program.

Cloke's tally of 52 marks this season ranks him fourth behind Essendon's Brent Stanton (62) and Richmond defenders Alex Rance (55) and Dylan Grimes (54).

The closest-ranked key forward is Geelong's Tom Hawkins, who's taken 51 marks.

Cloke has kicked 17 goals. Adelaide's Taylor Walker leads the goalkicking table with 23.

Well Damien, that's fair enough and will be agreed to by most here but....Melbourne just pick up Clarke and if they get Cloke :-\

Would hate to be sitting under Melbourne on the ladder in two years.

Get used to the big bucks for the big players people, their expected wage won't drop, if we want a star at the club we must be willing to pay.

you pay one bloke a mill a year and you risk losing second tier foot soldiers due to salary constraints in the next few years.

dont forget also that as players like martin, cotchin, conca grimes rance get more experience and improve the club will have to increase their salaries as well.

i'm happy to hear this from the club. they have been smart in their bringing in of older players in terms of getting good value at lowish cost.

if we are going to ever pay that money to a player, id prefer it to be to a home grown and loyal player that earned the privilege playing along side his mates over a period of time, not a blow in mercenary who will shopped around by his old man for an even bigger paycheck at the end of his contract
