3 in a row
« on: April 17, 2005, 07:02:51 PM »
An excellent 1st and 3rd quarters where we smashed Freo all over the park. Poor 2nd and last quarters. I think Freo brought us down to their level lol.

Positives:

We won easily :cheers
Great hard running and pressure footy in the 1st and especially the 3rd quarters.
Browny brought his own footy.
Richo was Richo - a lazy bag of 6, an OOF and almost missed a goal from 2 metres out  :rollin. Leading the Coleman medal  :thumbsup
Our "no name" midfield Cogs, Tuck, Hyde and co smashed Freo in the clearances and at stoppages. Great to see a Tiger side again hunt in packs.  :rollin @ Freo playing short crappy footy. What a joke of a football team.
Hall (yes that's Ray Hall) gave Pavlich a bath. Gas, Graham, Kellaway, Newman were solid in defence.
Thought Knobel and Stafford had far more influence in the ruck. Surprised to read Sandilands had more hitouts.

Negatives:

2nd and 4th quarters we went to sleep. Allowed Freo to remain in the game at half-time and then didn't bury them in the last when we kicked 1.7  :help. We can't afford to do that next week against the Saints.
In those quarters we became lazy going forward and turnovered the footy kicking to outnumbered contests. Also fell back into overpossessing in those quarters. When we straightened up in the 3rd and went direct through the corridor we blew Freo away.
Tivs - He got plenty of footy so in some ways he was better today but he failed to hit targets far too often.

Overall: A good team effort. 5th on the ladder  :thumbsup

Positives: Wallace had the luxury of trying a few things out in the last quarter, such as Simmonds at CHB.
