It will never happen as once you need to rely on other teams losing you're gone and it's not in our long term interests for us to chase finals yet finish ninth  but when Dimma wouldn't rule out finals in his press conference he must have been thinking about this crazy scenario:

Richmond wins the remaining 4 games - Dogs, Freo, Ess & Port.
Freo lose to Adelaide and North away and we beat them in an upset at Subi.
Essendon lose to North, Coll and us.
Saints lose to Geel and Carl
Carlton lose to Ess

We just need all that happen and we'll be in the finals by % on 12 wins

Mathematically possible but highly improbable
The Dimwit should be preparing for the big spring clean rather than dreaming the impossible
He has a lot to do between now and rd1 next year
All the rookies must go with at least 8 senior players
