The last time we beat the Saints way back in 2003 was a Easter Monday IIRC and thousands of Tiger supporters couldn't get into Etihad and were turned away. Friday night could be a repeat of that unless the AFL gives notice soon the game will be fully ticketed.
From speaking to club it is too late for that - They have already sold GA with no seating allocated and have to honor that!
Then the AFL will have egg on their faces as they did in 2003 if they have to lockout fans who turn up wanting to buy a ticket.
What makes it worse is the only MCG games this weekend are Essendon vs Melbourne despite Etihad being the Bombers home ground and on Sunday the crowd pulling blockbuster Collingwood vs Gold Coast . In the old days our game would've been moved to the 'G so no one missed out on going.
What happened in 2003 was people turned up without pre-purhased tickets as you say MT they were wanting to buy = they just tried to just get in on the day.
If you already have a a pre-purchased ticket for Friday night whether it be a reserve seat or just GA the stadium must honour it so people like Mrakov who have a ticket for the day must be & are guaranteed entry. Sadly, they will most likely have to sit up the back of level 3 but they will get in
Those that face the risk of being turned away are those who turn up Friday night and try and get in on a 16 gamer m'ship. If all tickets (reserve & GA) are sold out before then your 16 gamer wont get you in and there is no avenue to complain because the fine print on all memebership says it will get you in "subject to ground capacity".
Would suggest anyone thinking of going get a bloody ticket to avoid disappointment
