Umps

I'm not one who normally suscribes to "the world is against Richmond" theory but the umpires were an absolute pack of duds tonight. If the Saints ended up winning I bet they would have invited the maggots to sing the song with them.

We got a couple of good periods with them, but there were some shocking decisions too.

Umpires were terrible. The Hayes non holding of the ball in the third was a howler.

Kingy was tripped, decapitated and pushed in the back every time he went near it but can't get a free.

Agree with the sentiments and I thought the (almost) game changing decision was the non-holding the ball against Del Santo in the last that they goaled from. The most blatant mistake from an umpire all season that got them back into it after we jumped clear.

Yep. Had an eternity, got spun around twice and then got rid of the ball by dropping it with his left hand. Great umpiring :clapping

How's abt the last 3 centre bounces, 3 frees against maric, especially the last one he fair and square jumped at it, and got done.

Morris got his head ripped off by reiwoldt for the goal that let them hit the front, the dal santo one, reckon some bets were laid, was incredibly bad

The umps were noticeable tonight as it seemed everytime we got a mini-break on the scoreboard, St Kilda suddenly got a string of frees in row in the space of 5 minutes and got back into the game. It also looked like a lot of holding off the ball was let go and then one was plucked out when you least expected it. All we ask for is consistency from the umps and as the old saying goes a good umpiring performance is when you don't notice them.

They crucified us tonight. But good sides win without umps. We are a good side  :thumbsup

Loved the massive boo on Kosi going for that goal in the goal square... Followed by the standing ovation when he shanked it  :lol

Nick whinged all bloody night, finally gave away a 50m for abuse.

First 3 qtrs the umps were noticable with even poor deicsions for both sides..

Last qtr was stupid that period where Nick Riewoldt got about 5 free kicks in 3 minutes. Worst one I thought was the 50m penalty, happens 20 times in a game and never gets paid, can't remember who it was but Armitage tackled a Richmond player after he marked it and went into his back and didn't get off him.. Stupid.

Don't think we got 1 free kick in front of goal tonight. Saints had a few.

Was a clear Newman mark.
Double standard to the one to the Saints on the wing.
