Adam Marics Game Changer
« on: June 01, 2012, 11:39:22 PM »
As the commentators rightfully pointed out, Adam Maric's tackle helped saved the game and his kick to Jack helped us to win it. Several weeks ago I was bemoaning the fact that when games were in the balance no-one stood-up and shifted momentum in our favour - well Adam did tonight and he should be applauded :clapping. In fact he collected 8 possessions in the last quarter against the Hawks as well when subbed on.

Yeah it was big by him and Shed wasn't it.

Nahas beating 3 saints all by himself for another goal deserves a mention as well as drawing a head high and dish off to Dusty.  Funny to watch as he is already mouthing off at Simpkin before the ump has blown the whistle.

Was heaps of massive efforts in the last qtr, Maric's effort was enourmous. Saints were away big time.
Go Tigers!

I actually think Kingy will get  reported for that trip and maric will get a full game next week  he has a chance to cement himself in the side
This  will make or break his career important week or two for him coming up if kingy does go  out

Yep that Mini Maric tackle was priceless. If that kick got to Goddard and they had a bloke free on the wing. If you look at the replay Edwards throw to Maric to get the ball to Riewoldt was not out of place from the Stage of Origin game at Etihad two weeks ago. :lol :rollin :lol

Yes I think regardless of if King is suspended or not, Maric should get a chance playing off the half forward line

Addam Maric's just apples

    Sports Confidential
    From: Herald Sun
    June 04, 2012

MUCH has been written about ruckman Ivan Maric's role in Richmond's improvement.

But it was another Maric who was involved in the crucial bit of play that was the final turning point in the Tigers seesawing clash against St Kilda.

Addam Maric, who came on as a substitute for Nathan Foley in the last quarter, laid a match-winning tackle on Saint Brendon Goddard which finally swung the game the Tigers way.

The Saints had just whittled back Richmond's 20-point lead and had launched another blistering attack by crossing the ball to Goddard on his own, wide at half-back.

Maric left his man to prevent Goddard's run, then, despite giving him a huge height and weight difference, stopped him in his tracks with the tackle. The ball spilled free and the Tigers drove it to goal to score.

Maric only had four disposals but that tackle was vital in Richmond winning the game. It scored him a large portion of his 28-point SuperCoach tally.

Goddard was holding the ball. Great tackle and great pass by him to Jack. Well done. The tackle by Nahas in that passage of play was also very good when the ball came free. Brett's goal in the second quarter and his pass under enormous pressure in the fourth were also highlights

may have turned his career around with that one bit of inspirational play.

Big bonus if he makes it.

Typical of the Hun to miss the fact it was Maric who recovered the ball to send a perfect pass to an unmanned Jack.  ;D

Just seems to fade in games and struggles with the defensive efforts (though that tackle flies in the face of that now doesn't it!  ;)). When his intensity is up, like it was when he was trying to force his way on to the main list during the preseason games, he is a real asset to the side.
