GWS coach hopes for Tigers finalThe Age
June 13, 2012WHILE he will be doing all he can to beat them on Saturday, GWS coach Kevin Sheedy says he hopes his alma mater, the Tigers, make the finals for the sake of the supporters who have seen so little success.
''I really hope Richmond makes the finals because the Richmond fans have been fantastic,'' said Sheedy, noting that the Tigers had managed to get 50,000 members without tasting much success over the past 30 years. ''The Tiger fans deserve the Tigers to get in the finals.''
Sheedy called Richmond's emerging midfield gun Trent Cotchin ''an absolute superstar'', the coach having first learnt about Cotchin's special ability from ex-Essendon player and director Ken Fletcher, who taught Cotchin at Essendon Grammar.
