Some people here need a massive reality check.Yeah I'm upset to about the loos .but let's not forget we played a top four team away from home who have lost 3 games who's it's list is much mature and experienced then ours.Rutten and Thomson etc.I agree Miller should not be there at all were past him.We need to be patient and I'm convinced we will have success it takes time.

I believe Connors Miller and Houli should never be seen in a tiger guernsey again
They are list cloggers with limited ability
I blame Hardwick for today's loss for playing these types of players :
lumps, alcoholics and turnover kings
If B Gale was on the money he would get  Malthouse and clear out Baby face Dimmer
No other club would ever put Miller or Connors in their team but Dimmer seems to find room for them each week
How does Tabouli get in the team before Reece Lightning Conca?
Tabouli and Newman can't make tackles stick yet they get games.
We're unprofessional and we need to make Chimp Cotchin captain and get rid of all our sad recent history
A Pick 55  is captaining our club He's played 200 games and never played in a final
We are an embarrassment to ourselves let alone the football fraternity
Dimmer get fair dinkum  or get out otherwise you'll be another Spud and Terry saga
I've had enough honorable losses for three decades
These losses are really DIShonourable because you stuff it up in the selection room every time in crunch games
You're dishonest to the tiger fans and stakeholders so wipe that smile of your face and increase your professionalism because enough is enough

i am pretty sure they read our stuff though  .... FFS there is not one person  on this site that really thinks Miller has deserved his spot since the  Dreamtime game  is there?

Jackstar says hi

I am all for dropping him BUT to suggest Vickery you must be dreaming
Would go with Luke or Gus,
You must earn a game of footy, not get them gifted as Vickery seems to get

Expectations were raised after the Hawthorn and St Kilda wins but at the start of the year a frustrating season was always on the cards even with overall improvement given where our list is at. You can't lob this year with the previous 30 years. We have come a long way forward but we were starting from a long way back and in 2012 we aren't good enough YET. Upper level of our list is but it falls away still thanks to a mixture of still being too young and inexperienced and old guys still getting a game who can't cut it consistently when a game is on the line. I'm ticked off we lost today as anyone but nothing has changed as far as judging where we are at.

The funny thing is we could win our next 2-3 games in a row and be back in the hunt and hopes will be raised again. Likewise we will probably have another 'bad' loss along the way and we'll all be drowing our sorrows like right now. It's going to be one of those years and not unexpected from a young team. Very often young teams have the frustrating pre-year before the step up to become a finals side the following year. Anyway finishing 10-11th this year gets us a top 10 pick; Port's crapness means we'll get a early-mid 20 compo pick and probably another around 30 (normal 2nd round); then add a free agent who can walk into the side next year. Enables us to offload list cloggers and pushes most of our current bottom 6 out of the side to just fringe players/list cloggers. It's an evolving process as is development within our young cubs. As supporters we need to be patient even though that word ticks most of us off after 30 years of mediocrity.
spot on MT.
Gale said early on in the year that we would still have to take some medicine, and yesterday was a big dose of that bitter syrup.

perhaps some need to go down the julie andrews route;

To become a finals side we need better depth and to get rid of sub standard players. We are improving. We have a way to go. Agree with earlier comments of MT

It's part of the culture, essendon have been poo for 8-9 yrs but they still somehow make finals, now with a team that last year was arguably low on talent, they are flying, yeah yeah the draw is soft, but fact is they have had some serious injuries, and those losses could have easily been wins.

There is a clear difference in club culture, our stinks there is no other way to put it. There is a serious issue here bc each and every time we come to that moment of crescendo in a season where it's on a knife edge and can go either way, we always capitulate, we never make a stand and say stuff you, this time we don't buckle. I'm in awe and gobsmacked at how much
Patience some of you blokes have, time is running out ffs, every year we allow this club to buy a bit more time. Enough! They clearly ave the capacity to play competitive football this year, don't just sweep it under the carpet and say next year for sure, what happens if next year cotch or lids do a knee, what if we have a bad run with injury, will we say "next year 2014, bc we had injuries" in footy you have to grasp your chances bc they may not come round again.

Stop being mediocre and stuffing stand up and make us proud FOR ONCE IN 10 years and for the 3rd time in 30  ::)
fantastic post. I agree 100%
teams like the dawks and swans have no trouble just to make finals. Essendon play finals for breakfast.
We as supporters aren't asking for much.
A finals appearance would be great. Even if we get beat comfortably but it sets you up for the next year and one step closer to the biggest prize.
Geelong had a similar build to this. Had some losses in finals and then got to the big game and finally won it after years of failed attempts.
The club that keeps giving.

We are poo, week, no mental strength, we are and have been the mentally weakest team in 30 bloody years.

We also need some big players..... We are way too small all over the ground....they whooped us in contested marks around te ground.

As a member this is the worst loss I have seen in a bloody long time.....
