Would rather have root canal therapy than sit through a game like that again, instant delete off the IQ, certainly no moments for the highlight reel during that poor effort. Funny thing is that McGuane had a good game but with him in the team it just seemed like the old Tigers today. Loopy handballs to players under pressure, dinky 5 metre kicks to players under pressure, running with the ball with no apparent awareness of being mown down. All the traits of the Tigers over the last few season which i thought we had seen the end of. Even our kicking efficiency which had been good to date was so far from acceptable today. We really have missed two key opportunities to increase our %, if we dont use the GC game to do that then for me we dont deserve finals even if we manage to sneak in. Its games like this and the GWS game that if we end up in 9th spot due to an inferior % we will look back and say what if.

A really poor performance against a team who is nowhere near being competitive. I rate the performance a 3/10 at best. Most other sides would have beaten us today. We have a really long way to go still but at least the 4 points are in the bag. A really disappointing day IMHO should have won by 20 goals if we were a serious club.

And I'm not going to blame McGuane either, I thought he was our best forward over 4 quarters but the resemblance of our style today to the 'Tige's of old' was a real worry.  I have never seen so much poor use (over use) of the ball from us all year - bloody handballs back into trouble was almost like we were running a training drill of forcing ourselves into a pressure situation!

We seem to raise or drop our level depending on who we play.

We look a million bucks against West Coast, Hawks and St. Kilda and against Poort, GWS and Melbourne look like we're fighting it out for the spoon with them.

Froze my t@s off for that rubbish. What has happened to the side that I saw defeat the Saints? Over-posession, lack of leadership (apart from Cotch), imbecilic movement into the forward line.

I said to my son that Nahas is just a paddock footballer (after the first quarter) and he retorted  that I'm right but he will kick 3 and be selected next week - and he was right. Addam Maric is also not up to it. The youngsters I will cut some slack.

Why is it that every Coach salivates when opposition teams try to go 'one-on-one' yet Dimma and his players are frozen with fear?

only because once again we are not taking our chances. we have dominated for most of the game and have not been overly bad in the areas you mention. very few clangers (except kicks on goal) and decision making has generally been good, particlarly under pressure.

on the flip side our pressure has been great and melbourne are getting very few easy kicks, and no easy goals

so you agree with coach then? Do you think some of these guys are actually good enough?

It's plain to see in my opinion. Some of these blokes are try hards but miles away from being good enough for this level.

anyone knows that there are players that need to iomprove or be replaced, but the carry on like we are getting flogged reeks of barrackers who dont understand the game. the only thing that is preventing a large easy win is poor goal kicking 11.22.

We don't have enough quality players yet and we were very very very lucky we were playing Melbourne today.
