Mad tiger would be spewin.

Seriously though, thought 4 years is a bit much?

Should have been 3. Let's offer Jordie Sanchez a 5 year contract while we're at it as well.

If things turn out like you say Daniel, we are set. I have no doubt we are pushing for Cloke behind the scenes and if Caddy wants to come home, we will put ourselves forward as an option.

If we added Cloke, Chaplin and Caddy in the off season . . . .  :gotigers :clapping

4 years on a 26 year old is ok, will be 30 when time is up on the contract. I don't care so much about the years, to me it is more the $$$ attached to it. I've got faith that they aren't paying overs, not this new footy dept. we have anyways. If it was Wallace and co. it would have been a 5 year deal on $450k  :banghead ;)

Chaplain would currently be a better option to anyone we have on the list and provide good support to Rance & Co. If Port are interested in McGuane, they probably wouldn't not be now - but we should offer him anyway just to be nice ( and to get rid of him). Besides Port have got a bit out of Rodan & Shultz so they should be happy with McGuano.

Chris Knights would be a handy player in our midfield. Ivan MAric used to share a house with him when team mates at Adelaide - perhaps there's a link there?

Id love to get knights to RFC :pray

You kidding? Each to their own but the bloke is very average

We should now put all our energy into Cloke and Caddy

Caddy is the only one that will cost picks

End the year on a positive note

caddy wont be at tigerland.

last time I checked we don't have any  100 kg 195cm defenders...haven't we been crying out for a "gorilla keeper"

they don't develop over night .

I agree bojangles.

I think he's got a good size to him and would be a big improvement on our current skinny small forwards. And he should be cheap.

And it would be great to call out the name Knights again.  :thumbsup

Power denies Chaplin link
By Harry Thring
Wed 01 Aug, 2012

PORT Adelaide coach Matthew Primus has rejected claims key defender Troy Chaplin has received a four-year offer from Richmond, saying that Chaplin denies any contact with rival clubs.

With Chaplin's status as a restricted free agent, he is only permitted to leave the Power if they can't match the offers from rival clubs.

It was reported in The Advertiser newspaper on Wednesday that as many as five AFL clubs were chasing the 26-year-old and that Richmond had already put a four-year deal on the table.

Primus said Chaplin had told him otherwise.

"All the discussions that we've ever had with Troy is that he hasn't spoken to anybody, his manager hasn't spoken to any other club, so we'll take Troy on that word and keep working with him," he said.

"He plays an important part for us for the rest of the year and we see him as somebody that's going to be a part of our football club.

"He's telling us the exact same thing from his point of view."

But Primus wouldn't confirm whether the Power would definitely match a rival offer for the defender.

"We'll play that through, but [as far as] he's aware, he hasn't been spoken to by anyone and we have been in contract negotiations with him," he said.

"We'll play that out and this is what free agency is all about, but Troy's certainly not happy with the article in today's paper, he says it's the furthest thing from the truth."

"hey Matt, I'm off to Richmond next year, but can I still play this weekend?"

What else is he meant to say?

So what compensation will we have to give the Power draft picks to get him in ??.Dont forget it is a super draft and we have a early first rounder and 2 second picks.

It's free agency. We don't have to give them anything
