Richmond is top 4 in the difference between our disposal execution and what we allow our opposition to execute.

... what we do know is that, this season, winning the effective disposal statistic has provided victory in over three quarters of games.

Winning the contested ball battle – 77 per cent of games – is marginally still the most important individual stat.

Win both and you win over 95 per cent of games.

The teams that effectively dispose best in the AFL are Hawks, Eagles and Saints – all around the 75 per cent mark.

The difference between your execution and what you allow your opposition is the critical component – the effective disposal percentage difference.

The best ranked teams here are the Hawks (+4.3%), Swans (+3.4%) then the Tiger and Eagles (both +2.9%).

Doesn't sound like a big gap but when you consider that's allowed Richmond to have over 750 more and the Hawks almost 700 more possessions than their opponents, it's considerable.
