So who goes, who stays?
« on: July 23, 2012, 03:08:07 PM »
I reckon these 6 should go:

macdonald
connors
moore-lost too much pace
miller-in the way of development
mcguane-not the answer for key position
graham

These should stay:

post-this bloke has more talent than almost every tall on our list, his intensity is lifting
white-good depth
derrickx-worth another year
browne-still hope for him
a maric-unsure, 1 more year maybe?
webberley-unsure, 1 more year maybe?

With 4 talls going, Post surely should be persisted with. Derrickx given 1 more year too imo. I reckon 1 of A Maric and Webberley will be kept

Webberley, Maric, BrownE, Derrickx all gone along with what you had in your first 6 (although reckon they keep Moore and Graham is contracted). Touch and go with Post and White. There's also the Irish guy that buggered off

What I cant understand is we have been giving easy games to Miller and MGaune and Post finally gets a crack on the weekend after rd 1.Alot more to work with him in the team.Confidence is what Post needs and that comes with game time !!!!.

Wht does it matter?

Our coaching staff don't know how to get  an average player to give 100%.
They rely on natural superstars to keep their job

i have a list of about 19 including rookies that i think should be upgraded on.
reckon 7 is the number we will cut so will name who i think the worst 7 are.

connors - delisted already. hope we learn the lesson at last with taking his type.
macdonald - see connors
so in effect we are looking at making a decision on just 5.
white - just a poor player. surely 7 plus yrs is enough we need to move on people.
mcguane - see white.
graham - how has he survived so long.
webberley - not up to standard. was worth trying as a mature player.
derickx. - 25yr old who hasnt shown a thing in two yrs as a mature recruit. reload and try again.

rookies
miller - theres no point in keeping him just taking games of a kid.
heslin - already gone home.
a maric - reckon hes gone but personally id give him another yr see something in him.
wright verrier darrou. havent seen much of them this yr  reckon one will be in the gun.

safe
post -  atm,  maybe if he plays for the rest of the season  and struggles he could be in trouble.
a maric - this is hope more  than anything else. i like a lot about him  but his poor is poor.
browne - purely on an age basis.  has to start taking some decent steps.
edwards -  for now at least.had him in the gun for yrs but since about rnd 8 or 9 his form has been pretty decent. to stay safe he has to perform no worse than he does now.thats the questioncan he? or will he revert back to mediocrity like he has his whole career.
nahas  - like edwards safe for now only because there are worse.  have absolutely no doubt we need to upgrade on him.
jackson - safe for now but would be the first i  would cut if not contracted.
king - just too limited hes vfl standard. like edwards safe for now only because he gives just a bit more than others.
moore. - bloody hell we nursed him thru injury for two yrs and his  two comeback games have  not been all that bad.
houli - obviously hes safe in the short term but he is one i would be looking to upgrade on in time.
tuck - well age alone says hes probably only got a couple more seasons left in him no matter what you think of him as a player.
newman - see tuck.

development players well wont go there,  you can be sure though  not all are going to make it.
theres lots of decisions that have to be made on players not just this yr but coming seasons.

I think we will cut deep.

Delist

Connors - Gone
White - Bit player hasn't taken the steps required and  can upgrade.
Webberley - Decent kick but slow, weak, poor defensively.
Derrickx - Classic inbetweener. Hasn't shown enough.
MacDonald - Gone
Graham - Built like Tarzan, plays like Jane.
Moore - Too slow. Injuries have taken their toll.

In the gun depending on what unfolds for the rest of the year:
McGuane
Post

Miller
A Maric
Heslin
One other

Will be interesting who they keep and who they delist given the injuries we have had and the lack of certain types of players -

From the Main List
Definites
Connors
McDonald
Webberley

Probables
Miller (may be moved to coaching duties)
White (lack of midfield depth his only possible savior)
Graham (lack of ruck depth may save him)
Derickx (see Gus)

Possibles
McGuane (Trade bait  :huh Hasn't shown anything to make me think he deserves a spot over Vickery, Elton or even Miller imo_
Moore (will probably get another year but has been underwealming particularly compared to his younger competition for spots)
Browne (depends on other ruck delistings)

Moore is a really interesting one isn't it?

It's a great story to have come back from those ops - fantastic story

However, what last Sunday showed is not only how slow he is speed wise but in also slow decision making wise he has become.  Perhaps that comes from missing 2 years of footy but even allowing for missing 2 years you have to question if being out that long is too much and more importantly can the RFC really afford to have wait and see if he gets all those things back?

Who knows who goes, who knows who stays...

DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

Is he able to be rookied if delisted? This may be a path they go down (Polak).

Connors
Macdonald
White
McGuane
Graham
Webberley
Derickx
A Maric
Heslin

I reckon the above all gone, which means Post may survive purely a numbers thing.
