Is he able to be rookied if delisted? This may be a path they go down (Polak).

Yep he is but he would have to nominate and would be available to other clubs - that's the only "risk" not that it's really a risk as I don't think any other team would select him

I wouldn't personally, not with his injury history.
Prefer we got a fresh option on the list.

However, what last Sunday showed is not only how slow he is speed wise but in also slow decision making wise he has become.  Perhaps that comes from missing 2 years of footy but even allowing for missing 2 years you have to question if being out that long is too much and more importantly can the RFC really afford to have wait and see if he gets all those things back?

Let's see how he goes for the remaining games. I would probably keep him on for another year, as a depth player if nothing else.

I'm with you, think his body is past it unfortunately.

The club will possibly explore a rookie option though, in the hope with a fool pre-season he can come on.

11 to go.

macdonald
connors
moore
miller
graham
white
derrickx
browne
a maric
webberley
ohanlon

Should try trading Jackson, Edwards and Newman.  Sell them off while they might have some value.  Keep McGuane.  He is still young. Unlike most talls, he is good at ground level and defensively.  Can play HF with Cloke at CHF and Jack at FF.  Should stretch any defence.

unless they can trade him Graham wont be going anywhere as he is contracted

At 30 no one is going to be interested in Newman and outside of that the obvious thing is the club wont trade him - as the 2012 captain they wont trade him

Just chucking out 2 names for debate - Brisbane have dropped Cornelius and Polec this week for no apparent reason (to me anyway) and I rate them both.  Thoughts from the group if it's worth chasing either of these 2?

assuning we have picks close to 8, 30,31, 48, 64, psd, free agency.

likely list proper trade/delists
.
browne/derickx/graham  - as wp said graham is contracted so i reckon he will be the one they retain. the other two gone. means we need to draft a young ruckman and a mid.
connors/macdonald - gone means we need to draft a medium sized forward and one mid.
webberley -  vfl standard. hbf  we have a few so his spot may go to a genuine mid.
white - vfl standard. should be replaced by a genuine mid.
mcguane - out of contract and offers nothing. need to draft a tall defender or two.

likely rookies to get cut

miller - offers nothing. replace with tall forward.
heslin - already gone. hbf  but as stated we have that covered take a positional need.
maybe one other possibly verrier maybe even a maric.

your post has 9 from the list proper it wont happen. reckon 7 is the absolute maximum they will chop from list proper. 9 would be great but that would mean we cut contracted players i think.unbelievably we may even have to cut contracted players to get 7 delists not 100% sure.

of those 9 i reckon moore ohanlon and one of the ruckmen are safe.

i also think a maric will be retained on the rookie list.

I like Polec but think the question mark against right at the minute is the same as with alot of young players and that's the defensive side of his game. Needs alot of work on it but I am a little surprised that he doesn't get more consecutive games because he seems to have alot of upside. Would certainly look at him  :thumbsup
