Brandon seems to be the quintessential Richmond type player, he is neither a good player nor a bad player, he is an average player or as the late great Jack Dyer used to say - a good ordinary player. The question is why we used a 1st round pick on him.

Brandon Ellis will win the award for making the most mistakes in a game.

Very very harsh, if he's at this level in 2-3 years time then yes agreed, but its his first year ffs, why are you labelling him?

Not really concerned about Ellis..First year ,played every game ,won rising star nomination. You really cant expect much more.of the youngsters the one that concerns me most is Reece. To me he lacks smarts around the contest,i still mantain he also lacks leg speed.

75% of them lack smarts around the football. They take turns each week. Under 10 kids lock a game down better

Conca also has some issues, the get it and kick it wherever mentality needs to be put out of his game.

Conca has huge issues, any other club would have dropped him over the last month

Missing Foley has been a huge loss for us.he  goes in and gets the ball, and carrys it too.he generates momentum around the packs. He adds another one to the mix, other clubs need to tag.Despite Reece being thrust into the Foley role of late i think he has fallen well short. However he is only in his second year and i think i need to keep reminding myself of that fact

every single player who works in an under to get the hard ball will do this, especially first and 2nd year players. Ellis's yesterday was unfortunate, he got the hot ball slammed it onto the boot, unfortunately it didnt come off, he learnt from it. Ive seen Conca do the same, they'll learn, Ive also seen Conca one grab it at full pace and watch him telling seasoned players where to go, dont worry about a few errors, his kicking is sound

I dont think conca and ellis is the issue.

Its not that bottom or the top level thats hurting us.

The middle group:  moore. Miller. Jackson. Mcgaune. Graham. Amaric.

Furthermore the like of heslin, macdonald, connors being spinless little girls has put extra load of conca and ellis. Foley, helbig, aarnot not being able to play doesnt help.

Facts are that Ellis and Conca butcher the ball by foot.
Ellis running into an open goal and missing last night wasn't good
Conca can't kick
Is gutsy but another who butchers the ball

I still think he should have nailed that goal in the last though. Seemed to hesitate and wasn't sure whether to pass or take the shot. He's so focused on doing the team thing sometimes he takes the wrong option. Thought he looked shot in the last. Playing every game starting to take its toll I reckon. But you've got to keep playing him. The more games he gets this year the more he's going to learn and build on this for next. Gotta develop players to help out cotch, tuck and lids.
