How did you become a Tiger supporter?

Was 1973, needed a footy jumper for east burwood footy clinic, school uniform was getting embarrasing, id only ever heard of RFC or North Melbourne..with older brother and neighbours Richmond, the choice was overwhelming. Boy im lucky i chose wisely, must have been divine intervention

Had a Richmond Junior Squadron membership and a Richmond beanie on my head prior to leaving the hospital days after birth.

Born in 79, was a 1yo last time we won it.

I was born in 73, can't remeber that years flag. Nor the following. Not old enough to appreciate 1980.

1972 I decided best looking jumper in the GF would be my team.

Been the Tigers ever since.

1972 still hurts me and i wasn't alive to see it.

Whole family are Hawks supportors when it was time to choose i asked who was on top of the ladder to which a irritated and low mumbled "Richomnd " came out of my fathers mouth... Best choice i ever made

I grew up in the recruiting zone, all our junior footy clinics and pie nights had tiger players attending which made the choice easy.
3 flags in my first few years on the planet was necessary icing to the cake along with great colours, logo and theme song.

Was in the rooms after the Windy Hill brawl the day Whale Roberts got hit

jack....Roger Dean was my first hero..That adulation didnt last long though because along came my all time magnificent seven....KB,Bourke,barrot,clay,hart,sheedy,and oddly enough Michael green(in my opinion a truly great ruckman)

Was there that day also Jack, standing with my old man in the crowd on the wing near the players race as it all unfolded.  Still remember it crystal clear - Essendon crowd going ape and me (as a naive teenager) having the smug arrogance of being invincible and having absolute righteousness on my side.  So much has changed since then!

Born in 1974 an RFC Premiership Year. There's reason 1. Didn't know it then but has a nice ring to it nowadays.

1979 can vaguely remember Roach in the number 8 tearing St Kilda a new one at Waverley on Seven's Big League. Roach wore number 8 and I'm born on the 8th. Hooked for life.

My parents & myself came to Australia in 1968 and we lived in Richmond first. Dad said we should follow the Tigers as we lived there.

First game was in 1973 or 1974 when my neighbor (a Carlton supporter) to me to the MCG to see Richmond v Carlton. I saw Francis Bourke shake hands with Brent Crosswell and thought gee he's a nice bloke - because I then remember Crosswell kept trying to hit anyone who went near him. Tigers won by 56 points and Bourke shook hands with Crosswell at the end of the game as well.

I always thought that Bourke was a good role model - tough, fair yet a true sportsman.

When I was six I decided I was going to be a Hawthorn supporter and told my "footy ignorant" mother to buy me the yellow and brown jumper.Mum obviously thought black was close enough to brown....the rest is history
