Summary

* Scoreboard flattered us and we didn't play nowhere well enough. We came up against an experienced hardened side (second oldest in the comp.) and just got monstered. We were beaten by 30 in the contested ball.

* Spoke about Sandilands coming in (see other thread).

* We couldn't get our game going. Their pressure around the ball was strong. We didn't hunt the ball well enough. There were stages where we'd get our game up and running but then get shut down again. They defend Subiaco well and it's hard to get any transition going. We couldn't get any turnovers between the arcs. A really oppressive game of footy and they strangle you. They kept the game on their terms and we couldn't at any stage get it on ours.

* No chance of stance regarding selection now the finals are gone. We spoke after the Carlton game about the last 5 games being a springboard into 2013. We've had a bump in the road but nothing changes. We've got a six day break before the Essendon game and they didn't play particularly well so there's going to be two desperate clubs going at it Friday night.

* A lot of learning from close losses but we just have to get better. Limiting the damage on the scoreboard when the opposition have the advantage and making more of it on the scoreboard when we have the advantage. We believe half those close losses will turn into wins next year. We're disappointed. We thought we could play againsy certain sides a level of footy that would play finals but it wasn't the case. We blew it!

* Need a combination of more maturity and positional additions for next year. Got blokes to come back in - Vickery, Grimes, Foley - these types. Batchelor will be back next week. The bones are there but we just need to add things around the edges and we'll be okay.

* Cotchin was very good. Trent has worked extremely hard on his game. We just didn't have the support cast today with a number of guys down.

* Jack said for this playing group it's important to finish the year 11-11. So we'll be going all out to win the last two games.

That's the rub.....we only have 3 blokes out of the side and are still nowhere near good enough. We need another Ruckman, a CHF and CHB and more midfield depth.

I would say 5 important players - Conca and Ellis provide midfield depth and run that we are missing at present, and both will be better next year than this.

Jackstar is back!!!

And that's why we will struggle to play finals in 2013

That's the standard the whole team must work towards. It's this standard that will ensure long term success and the ending of an era of accepting mediocrity.
The club that keeps giving.

DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

Shaun Hampson is the No.1 man"
