My membership arrived in the mail today and I want to share the story behind it.  About 8 weeks ago I got a call from someone at RFC Membership asking about a comment I put in a member survey earlier in the season.  My comment (which I had also put in a couple of other member surveys in previous years) was that I believed we should recognize total years as a member, not just consecutive.  Many people (and I was one so there's the Capt Obvious why) might have circumstances beyond their control that prevents them from joining for a season at some point but with the consecutive aspect of the Rewards and Recognition program then any previous years were 'wiped' and you started back at zero.  I have posted about my opinion of this a couple of times on here so its probably not news to many.

Anyhow, the club official talked at length with me about my comment, my reasons etc etc, and then explained why the club has the policy it has, what discussions have occurred about it in the past, and that they were looking at all aspects of the R & R program.  All up we chatted for a good 10 to 15 minutes and at the end he thanked me for my time and support and that was that.  Fast forward to today and I got my membership pack in the mail and bugger me, if they haven't added back my previous years which took me back to being a Gold member, rather than Bronze turning Silver.  It would appear that this is a change in club policy as it has also happened with one of my son's - he had a similar but unrelated circumstance and his previous couple of years have been reinstated also.  So I just want to put it on the public record how impressed I am with this whole scenario - not as much the fact that I got an outcome that I wanted, but more the lengths the club went to to communicate with me personally on a very direct level and then make changes based on listening to the members.  I'm not taking credit as I'm confident many must have said the same thing for the club to reconsider it but the fact it happened and I can attest to the process makes me even more satisfied with the off field performance and direction of this great club.

Yeah, don't know what, if any, criteria they applied.  My guess is that they went back to around 2000 because I had a 1 year break about 5 years ago and they have reinstated me to 11 years.  I was a member off and on prior to 2000 but the 11 year figure fits with my last 2 'prolonged' periods of membership.  If it was 'all the way back' then I reckon I would sit around the 20 year mark but I get that record keeping is what it is in the modern computer-assisted age and the 11 year mark in my particular circumstance seemed to fit exactly into a particular circumstance of mine.  I want to stress again that I don't believe I was shown a 'favour' because the phone conversation I had was very generalized with no angst or plea bargaining on my part, and when I saw my son's membership details it was obvious that the club had applied some sort of ruling across the board - it wasn't about me personally.

Great news smoke  :thumbsup well done
Got my pack yesterday
Just wanted to commend the club on something also...
They said that if reserved seats were being changed then Those packs would not be sent out till january, with an option of getting a certificate of purchase.
Personally if it was for me I wouldn't bother, but it was for my kids so I emailed Emily Moody who got back to me like a flash of lightning. Within a couple of days the certs were  waiting in the letterbox.

The rolling eyes from my other half showed what non tigers think but to us means a great deal.
Its always great when the elder one says when are we going to tigee land daddy?, reffering to punt rd oval.

The most surprising thing to happen to say the least? The kids membership packs arrivedtoday In the mail!!!

Thanks RFC for the clerly tremendous effort you have put in!!!

Go u tigers!!

A lot of the members in Qld all received their packs over the past 2 days WP so I see no reason why it won't.

Yep, I'm slowly losing my confidence as well. I didn't even receive the hard copy of the Fighting Tiger Yearbook that I requested.  :(

Had a friend speak to the club to see where theirs is and was told "there are few problems with the mailhouse"

Surprise, surprise - not

It is always the mailhouse
