Astbury > Chaplin. Give him the game vs Carlton and see how he goes

Actual that's part of the problem we have with our borderline players. Give them a game against a lesser side and they look great. It's when they come up against top notch opposition (eg Hawks, Freo etc) that they struggle

Gauging Astbury IMO is not about how he goes against the poor side but how he goes against the really good ones. And again IMHO he struggles because he is slow in his decision making forget about slow on his feet

And he can't stay on the park.

We fall in love with players on this site because we see them as a replacement for the players we hate not because they are guns.

Read an article today suggesting we're after Michael Hurley, after he sits this year out. Might be the end for Astbury (or Chaplin)...

Not the article I read today, but http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/essendon/banned-essendon-players-could-be-convinced-to-walk-out-on-club-with-rivals-circling/news-story/10d9f4f1f3855939e4cfd6c44cc1eace
Is Hurley a big fish?

Given he would sure up the weakest area for five year

Given out list make up , yes

Rance. Drug cheat. Astbury. Grimes is solid

Given Astbury has only played 24 games in the past 5 seasons - I wonder in hindsight if we should of kept Jayden Post .

He had showed more ability than Astbury in my opinion.

Exactly. And in this case the devil we know (Chaplin) is better than the devil we don't (Astbury)

Do you think Astbury would have more of an idea if we had layed him more ....oops sorry I think he has been injured for @ 50% of his tenure?

I think we need to be playing McBean give him a good block of games not just the odd one here and there.

Look how long it took to put Miles in the team
