Whats the thoughts on Jesse Lonergan? I had a look at his results at the draft combine and they are very impressive. He also is afl ready considering he's played senior footy in tassie since he was 15.
Anybody seen him play?

Coach probably has a better idea. Unfortunately he has improved a heap this year otherwise he would have been ideal at pick 32/34. He's a very good athlete for an inside mid, has really improved his kicking and hit the scoareboard at the Champs. Can see him going 15-25.

I never said that. You're thinking Brady Jones, gerks.

Jesse is a good player and will be the highest drafted Tassie player in quite a few years. Has spoken to many clubs.

Was only joking. Presumed gerks was too. I think he'll go first round. Our pick is probably a bit high.

I think Cameron mentioned in the post trade washup ,something along the lines of needing more numbers through the midfield,I guess hinting that pick 9 will be a midfielder.Midfielders develop far quicker than talls ,and we seem to have a few developing along ok.eg conca, ellis, martin, along with lids, cotch, tucky, grigg etc.Wouldnt it be worthwhile to get the best available tall(key position) at pick 9,and develop him.In my opinion once you develop a spine the rest of the team falls into place way more easily

I think that applies to life in general.

Brett Anderson from Inside Football was just on the radio and had one of Macrae, Garner or Vlastuin (possibly a bit high for 9 in his opinion) heading to us at pick 9.

Anderson on twitter also said he has Grundy going to Port at 7 ("GWS to get a ruckman when they are ready to challenge for finals"), Mayes at 11 and Garlett at 25.

So the first round is looking like:

1. GWS - Whitfield
2. GWS - Toumpas
3. GWS - O'Rourke
4. Melb - Wines ....... (although there's some talk even Toumpas may slide to the Dees)
5. WB - Macrae ...... (could slip to us though)
6. WB - Stringer
7. Port - Grundy
8. Bris -  Jaksch
9. Rich - ?
10. Ess - Daniher (F/S)
11. Carl - Mayes

So if Macrae is gone that would leave either Garner or Vlastuin at 9.

The interesting for us in this year's draft is we'll have the first publicly known live pick given the reverse top 10 countdown.

I liked the look of Mayes looks as though he'd be ready to play next year. Great kick too
